Recreational fisherman like you and I have our season’s shut down by NOAA and FWC, but joker commercial guys can long line and kill thousands of pounds of fish a day, including bycatch, and leave their gear in the ocean. Very sad. We had a barge that was sunk a mile out from Egmont Key. A buddy was the attorney of the company who owned it so he had the numbers 1st. We dove it for over a year. On one dive we found a shrimp net broken off on it. So sad to see all the fish tangled in it dead. So many flounder around it we’d leave our guns & go down with a dive knife to get them. Heartbreaking how many fish died in that net.
