Years ago, I went to my parents church’s annual thrift sale “Attic Treasures”. My mom was working the refreshment area, while I looked around for some interesting items to thrift. It’s usually a goldmine. There was a large, 1970’s era, framed yarn cross stitch of white flowers on a green background. I was drawn to it even though it doesn’t go with my decor and I didn’t know if it had any value. I shopped around and then went back and purchased it. When I showed my mother my purchases later that afternoon, she told me- “Gram made that cross stitch”! My grandmother had passed away the year before and my mother had donated a number of old items from her house.

You caused me a shock because in one of your videos you picked up a plate for a moment that came from the same set of dishes that I have. I worked at a Montgomery Ward store in the giftware department around 1978-79. They decided to discontinue a certain set of ironstone dishes and reduced the price to make them sell fast. I bought 2 boxes of 4 place settings for $10 each and I bought the display. I never imagined that I would see a plate like mine on your video. 😁

Hi, Tiffany, I enjoy your thrifting trips! I wish people would just throw away things that are damaged. The first sweet lady antique dealer I ever purchased anything from, about 35 years ago, advised to never, ever purchase damaged glass, ceramic, pottery, chalkware, etc., that cannot be repaired, no matter how tempting it may be...it does not have any value. She did not steer me wrong! Have fun, and keep on thrifting!

I sell all vintage on eBay and I do sell some pieces that are chipped or have flea bites. I always make it known in my title and both description boxes and well point it out in my pictures. Some people don’t mind some chipping and some people can’t afford certain items if they are in pristine condition. If it have a chip and it’s priced lower because of that a lot of people will happily purchase it. Plus it saves the planet a little at a time.

Although this is not one of your recent videos and I am up to date on your videos wanted to comment here since I read a few comments already echoing my sentiments. First, you are very knowledgeable and I find you to be a good reference for someone wanting to embark on this type of reselling. As a secondary thing, but important, I too in keeping with some of your other comments, have also noticed that you have the courtesy and respect for the items you pick up on the shelf to further investigate. You always make sure the item is replaced the way you found it. Not any of the other resellers adhere to that. Little things(or seemingly small) say a lot about a person and apparently are noticed by more than just me. Thank you for your delightful videos and courteous treatment of the products and establishments you frequent.

I was a lot younger then. We had so much fun, items to buys were very expensive. Yes we did eat turkey legs, etc. I'm a lot older now, but those were fun times I spent with my sister. I don't know how you found so much nice stuff from those empty shelves! My former roommate has a collection of the blue calico. Most of it she brought back from England 30 years ago. It's amusing because she even brought back odd pieces and no longer remembers their purpose. But about 5 years ago I saw a complete service for sale on OfferUp. I think she bought it for less than $100. Part of the reason I enjoy watching videos like yours, Danni's and others is that you find things that I remember from childhood.

Oh my goodness, Bear is such a charmer! He’s very calm for such a young puppy and he seemed to sense that Bandit needed to check him out thoroughly but would scare easily. Looks like he waited till he thought his cat brother might be open to a closer encounter but still through the wire. Nope! Bandit was having NONE of that! 😂 I think they’re going to be cuddle buddies and I think Ziggy will be Bear’s partner in crime! Can’t wait to see their future shenanigans! 💕 Oh, and great haul, too! Who would have guessed the little Federal piece would be so valuable? My faves were the duplicate of your grandparents creamer, the gourds, the pottery pieces (platter and pitcher), and that interesting piece with the houses and trees!

Hi Tiffany, Another lovely video. I would lean more to the collection side of the teapots, or groupings of 2-3 as opposed to individually. Then again, I prefer lots for things that I collect, but that may take longer to sell, though they'd all be gone at once in a collection. I do the same thing, and buy things that my grandparents, great-grandparents, and even my parents had when I was growing up -- one reason why I have a set of 20 mid-century glass luncheon plate and tea/coffee cup sets that my grandmother had for bridge.

Tiffany, first, I'm glad you are pleased with my suggestion about laying out your personalized cart quilt. Second, in case you didn't locate the full history of it, that snowglobe with Times Square and the marquis/billboards from shows on Broadway in 2000 is from the snowglobe collection that is sold each year by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. I personally have the one you found, as well as several others from other years of the early 2000's. I bought them new (but on sale) and I recall that they were not inexpensive even with sale prices. Love listening and watching your shopping trips. You have taught me so much. May I suggest you try true beeswax on any wooden items that need nourishing. It makes the wood shine, it is safe to put food on and does not leave a slippery surface. The more you use the wax the more improved the wood gets. The Smithsonian uses it on their antique wooden furniture. I got my tin from The Big A. The little tin lasts a long time and it is pure beeswax. I love the way it made my grandmother's desk look and I know it is over 100 years old. Good hunting. I'll be watching!
