Күн бұрын

In this video we are removing a large fir tree in the pacific northwest. The tree has a dead top in it. The tree is dying and has to be removed before it becomes more dangerous. We used ziplining or speedlining to remove the limbs. This helped with the clean up. We felled the top out at over 100ft! The drop zone was very small. I used a Stihl ms261 and Stihl MS500i to chunk the tree out. I also used a Stihl MS881 for ground cutting. That was fun. The goal of this video is for you guys to start seeing more of our personalities. We're all getting more comfortable camera which helps with this. Let me know what you guys think in the comments and please like and subscribe!

Awesome! Ya, im trying new camera angles. There were two angles I've never seen before while chunking out the wood. One shot I put the camera on my flip line, the other shot was looking down on me while running the 500i.

Hello. Good job, BUT I have a question. In several of your videos it seems to me that you tie the branches away from the trunk of the tree....which is strange to me! We all know that it is best if it is tied as close as possible to the place where we will cut. However, you remain 50-60-70 cm, which is a prerequisite for the moment you cut the branch, the small back part to go up. There are quite a few videos of similar incidents and colleagues being hit. My question is, why leave such a long distance when you know what will happen? Thanks.

If the carabiner is too close to the cut point, it could slip off the limb. I think that's what you're asking about.
@spwoodbulgaria
@spwoodbulgaria 8 ай бұрын
if the reason is that the carabiner doesn't come out ... just make another round of the tree. Is the 10 second delay against the tree coming at you worth it? Greetings. @@VeteranTreeService
