I love LZ3. It doesn't get the love it deserves. They were going out on a limb with this album, and it set fans up for things to come. It also contains some of my favourite LZ songs. I'm generally a heavy metal/hard rock fan but this album just tickles me the right way.

The Zep guys only recorded 2 songs from the vast store of songs from the England of the Middle Ages . BABE , IM GONNA LEAVE YOU is centuries old . So is GALLOWS POLE , sometimes called HANGMAN , SLACK YOUR ROPE by folk singers . However , Zep 's members were very knowlegable of these traditions , and you can hear them in the songs they composed .

Really? I would have thought the word “Babe” was a more recent invention.

Back in the early 90s I saw a laser light show that was choreographed to all Zeppelin songs and when the song sped up the lasers made a horse galloping. Idk, I always heard the song differently after that, maybe I understood it better.

You will never go wrong with Led Zeppelin, you will always have an audience for the greatest music ever played. Do yourself a favor and listen to their entire catalog then listen to Robert Plants solo material, you won't regret it.🤙

They didn't put this song on one of their Greatest Hits CDs and it pissed off my dentist when he found out. I told 'im, buy entire albums, not compilations.

This song was a precursor or template for Stairway on the next album....the way it begins light, slow and acoustic.... And builds faster and more intense as it progresses.

Not to mention how the drums come in later in both songs too.

("LA Leakers Ray Vaughn") is a Bar heavy 8min 📽️ video.. Your guaranteed to pause every 5 seconds because of so many bars . The Bars never 🛑 stop coming. The energy and passion he brings is unmatched. Ray Vaughn has a Overload of bars and the word-play is 🍌 bananas. Please 🙏 don't 💤😴 sleep on doing this reaction. PEACE ✌️...

As has been noted, this song is OLD. Led Zeppelin on this album were folksingers.
