@@Kot_Anatolyi тут от конкретного случая зависит: Калить венец ТВЧ Калить с нагревом в соляной ванне Изготавливать деталь из предварительно закалённой (до 40 ед HRC )заготовки Чистовая обработка после закалки... Это так, от неспециалиста , навскидку. Хотите внедриться в тему,Велком на чипмейкер.

These machines are still in use today - even in the USA and UK. Horizontal milling machines still have plenty of uses. Lathes are still much the same. Not everything is CNC even now.

it's a chain sprocket. those are not so high precision and often not hardened anyway. that was not a weld but what was left after a weld was cut off by torches.

I truly love watching these men at work and their skills always impress me. However the finished product wont be much use, because the rolled steel from a ships hull is nowhere near tough enough for a sprocket, and it wont last long before it screws up and takes the drive chain with it.
