The fact that it's jam packed with features and still a lot more affordable than other guitars with the same features means that schecter is charging a true and fair price. They're profiting from the guitar even at that cost, if not, they wouldn't offer them at that price. That ultimately leads me to think that other companies are charging way too much, probably for the name of the brand.

I tried out one of these monsters at a Guitar Center and I will be getting one. I was skeptical of Fishmans till I tried them. I kind of fell out of love with EMGs finding them too sterile. Just a wonderful instrument, and it looks amazing.

Bought this guitar a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely love it. I've never played Fishmans before and they sound incredible. I know they're active but they sound nothing like Emgs. They are very clear sounding pickups very different form any I've played. The neck is very thin but I have small hands so I love it. Only downsides I can think of is I'm used to big inlays on my guitars and I can't really see these at all when playing so I had to adjust to that. Oh and the guitar is a lot heavier than it looks , it's almost as heavy as my Mahogany Lp!
@SketchEtcher3 жыл бұрын
I just got one, FRS model. It’s noticeably lighter than my Hellraiser. 7lb 4oz I believe. Love the Fishman pickups, much clearer than the EMG’s, but the guitar itself is clearer even unplugged-must be the through neck. I love the ebony so much, it feels so slick when I bend that every other guitar in the world now seems almost like a toy by comparison. What an amazing instrument, and it stays in tune no matter how much I abuse the FR.

Sounds great, I ended up installing a kill-switch in a different stat that I play a lot more. Bought this guitar almost three years ago based on this video and still love it - thanks for the in depth review! For those considering it, I play this thing almost every day, and everytime I think about "upgrading", I talk myself out of it because this guitar accomplishes so much for its price tag. The feel of the neck is what grabbed my attention first as it aids fast playing so much (I can also never go back from having locking tuners too). Since buying this, I've tried a £4k strat, a £3k PRS (amongst a few others) and I honestly still preffer this beauty. My impression is that for those high end expensive guitars, you're paying for the brand, history and attention to detail on aesthetics, that don't really contribute to the playability of the guitar. Only mods I've done is swapping out the SD pickups and replacing the strap buttons for Lox strap locks. The Fishman pups do sound awesome but I have a vendetta against batteries, otherwise I would have kept them.

I'm a fairly new subscriber and this is the first time I've seen you with Fishman Fluence pickups. I was so hyped about these. I picked up a pair of the signature Will Adler set and popped them into my LTD H-500. It originally came with an EMG 81/85 set so you could imagine how blown away I was with the chime and bell-like quality. The neck pickup was my absolute favorite. After the honeymoon phase, however, I found the bridge pickup to be especially shrill, considering my LTD was already pretty trebly and full of bite. After thinking about it for a long time I decided to go back to EMGs with the Retroactive Fat 55 set. Sure, nothing has the Fluence clarity and voicings but that's about it with those. They consume more battery as well. In about 5 weeks I've had to replace my 9v. With the EMGs it literally takes months before you replace it.

fluence pickups can have two or three voicings, and can also have split coils. if its setup with two push pulls, the volumes is likely the one that switches between voicings, and the tone is likely the coil split, or just voice 3
@cbsaulren4 жыл бұрын
Can you confirm this? I was wondering this exact same thing. Would make sense to me to have one pot for tapping and the other for voicing (active/passive) but I can't find this info anywhere...

@@cbsaulren i dont know if they advertise it like that, but i installed the tosin abasi set in my 7 string schecer, which onyl has 2 knobs. the diagrams came with a 2 push/pull wiring configuration so that my volume changes the voicing from voice 1 to voice 2, and the tone knob does the coil split. I would imagine it is that same for the majority of their pickups since they are all basically the same. at least for humbuckers. If the guitar is set up where it has one normal and one push/pull pot, that can probably be wired to either have voice one or voice 2, OR coil split, hence why I opted for dual push/pull pots

Hey there Darrell, I gotta say Schecter has been making really high quality guitars for a long time. I kick myself in the butt every time I think about it, but before moving here to Germany, I had a 2004 C-1 Elite in what was called Quilted Amber. I swear it looked just like a jar of Orange marmalade. lol. The entire guitar was bound in abalone, and all hardware was gold. String through body over a tune-a-matic bridge. Pups were actually a lower output, just a bit hotter than a PAF, with coil split on both pups via push/pull pots. It was arched top super Strat style and a really great playing guitar. I sold it because I didn't have much room left in my container. I wish I had at least left it with my firearms at my sisters house instead of letting it go :( I've looked at replacing it over here, but when I do run across one on eBay, they are usually well over 1,000 euros. I really liked the tone of those pups tho. For me, these Fishman's are just a bit too hot. I would have to keep the pots pulled all the time on V2. For those wanting a slightly hotter than PAF pup, Seymour Duncan has a set called The Saturday Night Special. Coil split capable too. That's what's going in my custom Acacia Cronus. Great video as usual Darrell sir. Chat later bro. Bob in Germany

Bought one a year ago and honestly for the price it might be the best I have played right out of the box and I personally love the neck feel as it is fantastic. I do like the pickups (which I left both in one) but bought a second one and put a Dimarzio 36 anniversary in the bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck using a 250k volume pot (tames the highs a bit) and it's now an 80's killer. So I have 2 great playing guitars but sound very very different that are an incredible value for the money.

Amazing playing on an incredible guitar. It's easy to see how such an advanced guitar can be sold so cheaply - after all, South Korean labor can be a quarter of American labor and this is obviously a high labor instrument - but kudos to Schecter for selling it at such a good price as this could easily compete in a much higher bracket. Definitely makes me want one, although $1,200 is really above my comfort zone. That's three $400 Craigslist guitars!

Could I ask what you think about the EMG bridge pup? Gotta trigger finger ready, my only concern is I absolutely love the bright punchy EVH pup's. Had some active pickups in a charvel and was happy with them until my brother brought his EVH over, that changed everything. Of course my active pickups were older and not EMG 81s. Can you get a bright punchy evh sound out of your Schecter? Thanks 🤘

@@rogerbrown5016Thanks, I use a number of app modeling programs. Which I've been able to dial up some pretty cool tones with. What's your thought on the neck? I prefer next that aren't too thin. Sorry for the questions but there's no decent guitar shop in this area.

@@Virtual-Media That sucks! Everybody has their own preferences but I don't think you can go wrong with Schecter ! Get floyd rose and Emgs you'll be set! I think you'll be surprised at the quality of these guitars when you get it in your hands! Try to not get bolt on neck! Makes big difference!! Later man!

Schecter is so underrated. They have some quality diverse guitars today and I tried one I really liked which one of my music school friends had.

I have the same one with the sustainer and the floyd since more than one year. I haven't found any flaw on this guitar and it's an endless source of fun

This one is on my list. I own the Custom Solo 2 you have in the background and I absolutely love it! These S.Korean Schecter guitars are absolutely outstanding in every way. I am a loyal fan of what Schecter is doing.

Schecter's are insane. I have a 006 (discontinued), ultra access set neck, SH 4 bridge pup, Grover hardware, string thru body, neck and headstock binding, and a single MoP diamond inlay on the 12th fret. It plays perfectly and sounds great! I got it for $280

I just got the C-6 FR PRO and I am so looking forward to get this one too maybe in a year. Schecter makes very nice guitars for absolutely fair prices

Schecter are producing some killer metal machines. Amazing quality for an fair price. I'm waiting to try out the hybrid, the one with EMG that are both passive and active at the same time.
