This is the new Thinline acoustic (3.5 inch thin body) from Firefly Guitars. In the past, I've not been a fan of thin body acoustic guitars, because of their sound, or lack thereof... this guitar is changing my mind. Although slightly quieter than a full thickness guitar, the tone is the same.
This guitar here: guitarsgarden....
My original video about the full thickness acoustics: • This is THE BEST Budge...

A friend got one of those firefly thin body acoustics. He didn't like the sound. I kept it for a couple of months. I got a humidifier that you drop inside the sound hole. After a week I took it out of the case( after market). I played it for an hour. It made a big difference in the overall sound and tone. Myself, I like it a lot more than my Epiphone or my fender acoustics. He got it back and swears I performed magic on it. Lol. He plays it more than his old Gibson J45 he bought in the 70's. Some may not like it. I definitely am a fan.

Bought, one bad neck 😢 b/e need fret work needed! Quality control is on materials not playing ability! ,but $200 get you a playable entry level real wood! Firefly needs to do better on playing,a players guitar on budget on the Malibu Lp, and 338 put a real humbucker at bridge, plus a knock off roller bridge on both! Wow sound with ez of playing, the lp is laminated and heavy so not a on stage player! Mitchell Ms 450 lite weight LP style, good pickups, good neck, tuner's MF stupid deal of day,$200 that model no longer produced! That guitar studio/stage no problem!for me better than firefly LP in that price range! The acoustic entry level of martin, Taylor guitars waste of$$$ buy the acoustic firefly instead!❤❤❤😅

The reason of the small frets is that whit an Aqoustic guitar you need contact whit the fretboard/fingerboard to get the right sound , and whit speedy playing on an electric guitar often you do not contact fully to the board , thats also why many electric guitar-players really can not play an Aqoustic properly

I have been super impressed with what I have seen out of Firefly guitars so far. My latest acquisition is the newest gen FFLP with the "set-through" neck joint, belly cut, and stainless frets. I would put it up against any $600.00 guitar I have ever played. It's hands down the best budget guitar I've ever come across. How they do it for $200.00 is beyond me. I just wish this quality level of budget instruments was available in the early 80's when I started playing.

Anyone out there looking for a cheap acoustic (no electronics) with a solid spruce top, I’d recommend the Mitchell MD-100S (NOT the MD-100). Solid spruce top, rosewood bridge & fretboard, laminated mahogany sides/back, binding, and even an abalone rosette. Sounds and looks great, light as a feather, and CHEAP. In fact, they must have been too cheap because they are only available used now. They’re out there for about $100.00. Perfect practice acoustic. I bought mine in 2007, and recently wanted to replace the nut. I had a hard time finding the right size, so I emailed Mitchell asking if they sold replacement nuts. He asked me for my shipping address and sent me a new one for free…. and I didn’t even ask for it! A 16 year old $129.00 guitar, and they sent me a free nut with no questions asked. When’s the last time you heard of customer service like that?

I have 1 acoustic, had it for many years, a giant body Guild that plays & sounds great, but is huge & cumbersome. A smaller, lighter unit with a cutaway and a pickup? And still has good tone? I'm in, I just ordered one, you should get a commission Max. $226 shipped. I don't get all the comments saying sold out?!? This will be my 6th Firefly. Thanks Max.

Hi Max, Here's a follow up. I cannot thank you enough for your review of this guitar. I've been playing for sixty years and this is one of the finest guitars I have ever owned. In my opinion it's perfect in every way. I got mine last week and don't want to stop playing it. I set up every guitar I own with very low action and number 9 strings. I know others who may disagree, but that is what I like. I've chosen three gear reviewers on youtube that I trust and you are one of them. IMO this guitar is better than the Martin I bought two years ago, eight times the cost. In fact, I am thinking of selling the Martin and buying a couple more of these. lol Thank you again for your excellent council. Shalom/gw PS FYI, I'm a retired EE and both a full scale and RC pilot.

Do you think you could weigh it and tell me how heavy it is? I need to start playing standing up (usually play sitting and in classical position), and my shoulders are not taking the weight of my guitar very well. Mine is not heavy (almost five pounds) ... I might be shopping for a lighter one, but I still want a nice sound...

I developed tendonitis in my elbow from carrying kids and I can't play a full body acoustic without a lot of pain. Found an Ibanez Talman that is about 3 1/4 at its thickest and works great. It is better plugged in, mainly because I use such light gauge strings (.008s) but still good unplugged.

I've had two Firefly dreadnaughts, and both experienced some pretty serious cracking. I would love to have the thinline acoustic, but living in Arizona, I would just be inviting more cracking. That did not, however, stop me from buying one of their new Super FFST in matte black, which is a spectacular instrument.

Hey, Max. Sidebar... I'd like your feedback as another video if that's cool. I feel like Harley Benton and Westcreek are each working on their reputations while we're all in some kind of "guitar company rennaisance" with new company names, improving quality, and new pricing structures. At first, I was euphoric that I can afford a well made guitar. But I'm starting to realize there are still some pitfalls to be aware of. Even Harley Benton and Westcreek are part of the problem. In fact, maybe they personify it. Everybody knows they can make a genuinely great guitar. I mean, WOW! But for some really confusing reason, they aren't consistent even within a proven model. I know of only one model that hit perfection and just rode it out to the end, and that was the Westcreek Revenge. Now THAT was a stellar success! But I can't name another one. From any company. Here's the weird part. Some small company produces a monster sales success! - and moves on? I bet if they ran another batch, they would sell every single unit on reputation alone. And yet, people who don't play guitar still haven't even heard of Westcreek. Even more bizarrely, I bet Westcreek hasn't even decided whether they even want to run another batch of the Revenge money-maker. And the reason I don't have a Revenge? - is because while I changed my mind about the color, they sold out. I'll regret that for the rest of my life. LOL So the inconsistency is one thing. And another thing is the flashing speed each run sells out in. Every model sells out in days if not hours. The major guitar outlet chain stores all seem to be falling apart, but mom and pop stores aren't sure what to gamble their capital on. So I end up on KZbin, and if I find something I like, I still have to watch the whole video. Then if I still like it, I buy the guitar and come back to KZbin. If I see a lot of other videos favoring the guitar, I stand pat. If not, I go back and cancel my order and start the whole process again. I mean I REALLY value your impartial and super informative videos, Max. But I need you to make a video when I get some money, because I can't wait. I am dying to find that great guitar under $300.00 and I don't want to miss that opportunity. Each great deal vanishes like a pond mirage on the road ahead. My first two new guitars in years, were a Groove from Canada via eBay, and a Latitude Equator from Amazon, both thanks to you, Max. And I will be eternally grateful. So I guess that's a lot, but I hope you might do some videos about some Westcreek guitars. I feel like Harley Benton had a turn, and to be honest, I'd like some more of your opinions about Westcreek products. Then I'd like your commentary on the validity or the fantasy of the "guitar rennaisance" if it's real, what is it and where does it seem to be going? Also, Max, nobody I heard, is talking about how it's not always easy to upgrade a small-brand guitar. It would really be helpful if somebody would advise us about the workarounds. It's smarter to buy a new pickguard with no screw holes, or buy a Walopus drumskin, and do the DIY cutting and drilling on our own. I heard there are tricks to installing upgraded pickups. And I'll bet you know some good tips on buying a guitar and not regretting it later. Anyway, while you're off TCBing, I'm repeatedly checking in to see if you've posted a new video yet. So I'm just killing time by writing this huge-ass Comment, so I understand if you don't have time to read it. Take care and thanks for everything!

For what you pay and what you get...these FireFly guitars are unbelievable. I have two LP's, one SG, one 338 and just recently got the strat version in the FireFly line, which I must say is the best of the lot so far. The features on this strat style guitar just blew me away i.e... Canadian roasted maple neck, roasted ash body, bone nut, stainless steel frets (not a fan of those frets, but still) locking tuners, steel hardware and decent sounding pups and it came playable right out of the box with a very minimal set up. Let's face it, for one you can't even find just an unbranded roasted neck for less than $300.00 and this guitar was $149.00 plus shipping...I could go on and on...alright...I'm done gushing. However, back to the acoustics, when it comes to a thin-line acoustic guitar, I prefer Martin's triple O series i.e 000-28 EC or non sig. 000-28, 16 and 15 as they deliver a more sweet and haunting tone, which is more than what I am hearing here. That doesn't mean I won't buy one! Good job FIREFLY keep it up. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace

When Fender first introduced thin line acoustic/electric guitars in the 1980s, they sucked, and I mean HUGE!! They had vitrually not acoustic output at all and NEEDED an amp. Today's selection is much better, and even the really cheap, $100-200 range thins do at least OK, and if you go to a higher price point, they just get better! I am sure the Fireflys are a great value. It sounds great. Great video, as always, Max!!

I played a Talman and the older Fender Strat acoustic. Both left me unimpressed. However the main downfall of each was the PU system. On thin body acoustics the PU makes all the difference. Check out the Fender Acoustasonics. They are pricy (On sale right now at Guitar Center) but they demonstrate how much improvement can be made with a modeling pre-amps.

3 1/2 inch thick, thin body? Most thin body guitars are closer to 2 1/2 thick. A full body is 4 inches thick. So this isn't really thin, I suppose it would sound better than a 2-inch-thick guitar.
