This new spraying stand is incredible. It appears to be just like the one they use in the Fender custom shop. This is going to make spraying guitars much easier and faster, and allow me to do more of them more efficiently. I can't wait to test this beauty out for real.

You got me through a tough covid lockdown when I decided to order a £120 kit guitar to keep me occupied. It's still my favourite one to play and I'll be sticking by you until I decide to try a little harder and build a slightly better one. Congrats on the new member of the family! You're a legend!

This spray rig is certainly awesome. I looked them up and I think they are made in Canada and for the full system package the price is $412.20CAD and that is a fair price. If you don't want to spend this much money or if you are only wanting to spray a few guitars here and there. There are many videos and designs of similar rigs and how to build one on a budget! If you are looking to spray a bunch of guitars, and want a top quality spray rig, buy this thing immediately. It is certainly worth the money! I may very well get one for myself. Very Nice Brad! We know how to assemble this thing now and that is valuable information! Peace & Love

My buddy in San Diego has a guitar finishing biz, and has a similar rig. He does one thing that will help out in the long run. After you attach the sticks to the neck pocket, tape over the screwheads. That will stop paint buildup and keep them easy to remove after drying.

Hey man! 🤗 I have a quick question, albeit off-topic! 🤣 I ordered an M6 double-cut from Precision Guitar Kits (the body and neck wood are African Mahogany), and I have some black guitar stain from Stew-Mac... I do like how boiled linseed oil works and looks too. What would be the most effective way to use the black stain and linseed oil? Should I apply the linseed oil first and let it dry, then apply the stain second and let it dry, then succeeding coats of linseed oil for the finish? I am an artist and perfectionist, but I'm not experienced with such things. 😂 Thank you! I love your channel and what you do! I like the cut of your jib, sir! 🤗🤣😎
@BradAngove
@BradAngove Жыл бұрын
Hey, good choice on the kit. I wouldn’t oil the wood first. I would generally just go straight to the stain, then let that dry and carefully oil overtop.

Hi Brad! New subscriber here. I have a question for you. I would like to fill the bridge pickup cavity on my Harley Benton SC-500 single cut guitar. Is it possible to sand, paint and clear coat a section of the guitar without having to sand down the whole guitar finish? I hope that makes sense and thank you for the good content.
@BradAngove
@BradAngove Жыл бұрын
It’s possible, but very difficult to get it to blend well. If the guitar is painted with nitrocellulose lacquer it’s a bit easier.

Actually, the opposite is the intent. By making the guitar turn and spin for you, you don't have to move around therefore putting the spray toward the exhaust fan. The inspiration for this came from watching Jay Nelson videos, and they do a good job of showing what I mean.
@BradAngove
@BradAngove Жыл бұрын
Yeah, notionally you should be able to contain your overspray better if you can always be spraying in generally the same direction and still have access to the entire guitar.

To anyone that can help. Bit off topic but can you get colour tints to add to tinned nitrocellulose clear coat lacquer to create touch ups for worn areas on a guitar body. I have a bourbon burst colour and I've noticed the edge colour is like a tinted deep brown / red and it's translucent.

@Brad Angove Hey Brad I just bought esp ltd ec-1000vb but I'm not a fan of the binding colour and i think its a bit tacky looking. I was thinking of like a purple haze to go with the matt black, what's your opinion on it. I'm painter aswell and the stand was a great purchase in my opinion you can think on the job your doing and not man handling the part. I put a velcro strap on my forearm and near my shoulder with the air line secure in the straps, so to keep it out the way and it's easier to focus when you spray and not keep your second on the air line . You should try it and see how it makes your spraying easier and that your not worrying if the air line hits off the part.
