The FAL in the original MW2 was a gun that I couldn’t take seriously because of its iron sights but the FAL in BO1 was something I grew to take seriously because the iron sight were flat out acceptable and the sound of it was soooo hard hitting.

Yeah the iron sights for BO1's FN FAL are one of the most satisfying of any Call of Duty. The reload animation for the FAL in MW2 was fantastic though

I know its kinda random but played some black ops cold war a few days ago on wmd and if i just compare the lobby from this gameplay and the cw lobby the difference that sbmm makes is crazy. Everyone was either jumping around or dropshotting and shit and I feel like on top of the sweat that sbmm gives you, you cant even enjoy such a great map as wmd. So sad to see. I used to love the M14 in BO1 and I never touched the FN FAL, because I was convinced it was just a worse version of the M14. But maybe I really undervalued it, looks like it was a lot of fun to use here!

M14 was better. Recoil was vertical therefore easier to control and neck shots had the same multiplier as a head shot. At long range it only needed 1 HS or neck and body shot to get a 2 shot kill. FAL would need 2 HS at long range to get a 2 shot kill.

My best friend in highschool used to looove using bolt action and semi auto in COD just for the challenge. I remember him using the FAL and M14 almost exclusively in BO1; it helps that his trigger finger was extremely quick. He actually got accused of modding a few times 😆
