the japanese wii having all those blue miis and a unique layout would be so good for a creepypasta or something. i want to be cringe and write a story for it: An avid collector and reseller of consoles, Jacob had purchased a massive unit, hoping to find something interesting and profitable. Upon sorting through many Xboxs, PlayStations, pee Wiis and the occasional knock off- he came across a decent looking Wii, one that thankfully worked. Plugging the chords in, and booting up the Wii, it posted well; to his surprise, however, it was in Japanese. After sorting through hundreds of Wiis, this happened to be his first Japanese Wii, something quite bemusing. The menu loaded like normal, except the layout was different. The channels were sorted in a mirrored pattern, an orient not typical of the Wii. Jacob laughed at this, finding it peculiar. Looking further into the Wii's quirks, he selected the Mii channel, launching it, hoping to discover more silly things about the Wii. When initially starting the channel, he noted how all the names were in Japanese, unable to read them. He then noticed how most of the Miis were in blue, but just chalking it up to the owners favorite color. Some Miis had normal names, Haru, Kenta-kun, Asamawa-San. There were a couple different names, some seeming like random characters together, one being "Fuchi fuchi ni ne mina hg", another being "Funere fumutsu Mutsu yomi”, these translations leading to laughter. Having enough of the Miis, Jacob decided to leave the channel, checking out the rest of the Wii, looking through the storage, seeing the games and what else it contained. Going into the setting, he checked the owner of the Wii, "Yanagi mama", chuckling at the name Jacob further investigated it. No photos, and only a few games had been played on the Wii, then to test if it could even play games, he tried to insert Wii Sports. Of course the Wii is region locked, luckily he had a Japanese GameCube game, and after inserting it, it loaded successfully. Happy at finding a functioning Japanese Wii, Jacob happily listed it and hoped it would find a good home to go to. After finishing up his haul, Jacob posts his good consoles- within the hour, the Japanese Wii is bided on. Shocked at the haste of its selling, he looks into the buyer, some random Japanese person. Shrugging it off, Jacob started cleaning the Japanese Wii, eager to see if there was anything interesting on the inside, parts, screws, cables, etc.. Fortunately, the majority of the hardware was the same, making the take apart quite simple. Upon lifting up the disk drive, he noticed a blue sticker on the underside. Something understandably strange, Jacob took his phone to translate it. "神様はいつも。麻原 彰晃が天国によこそ。", the translation read, "God is always, Asahara Shoko welcome to heaven." A perplexing statement, Jacob looks up the name, as it somewhat sounded familiar. Audibly gasping at the results, he starts connecting what this means- weird layout, hardly any games, mostly blue Miis, weird names, the obvious sticker on the back...this all correlates to the Aum Shinrikyo cult, or the Japanese cult of the blue people. Quickly looking back at the name of the buyer, あきと, he gets the idea to search through the Miis, and sure enough, on of the blue favorited ones is names the same, Akito. Looking into the meaning of the name, it means wise man, bright person, or intelligent. Jacob delists, the console, feeling uneasy about his discovery. He doesn't know what to make of this...owning a cultist Wii? How absurd is that. Advancing more into the profile, he sees how it was newly created. Jacob's eyes widened, nearly bulging out of his skull, "December 26th, 2024". The day he had posted the listing. Blocking the account, an uneasy, sinking pit grows in his stomach. Spending the next couple hours, Jacob researches about the cult, seeing how they made games, anime, mangas, and songs all pertaining to their message. Whoever owned this Wii, must've used it to either recruit people into the cult, or as a activity console for the members. Checking back to the profile and unblocking it, a wretched sensation washes over him; the profile was deleted, and not a single trace was left. Scrambling to assemble the Wii back together, Jacob attempted to turn it back on, but to no avail. To be sure he didn't do anything incorrect, he disassembled it again, meticulously building it back, knowing it was done right. Once hooking it up, the red light appeared on the power, the Wii sputtered and murmured, but all the was shown was a barely fuzzy screen of black, accompanied by a low hum emitting from the speakers. Jacob was left unnerved as his senses were swallowed by this grotesque frequency, watching in dread as the dark pixeled dance, mocking him. "Last time I buy from Goodwill", he says, as he unplugs the Wii, throwing it in the pile of discarded consoles, minor sputters still coming from the Wii.

Jacob, you probably already know but for others as well... 20:34 when the screen stops loading the update like that you can enter into safe mode (press sync and home buttons at the same time) then turn off the system and then on again and it will continue downloading the update from the point it froze, may have to do it a couple times but eventually it will download the entire update.
