Are people born in India that got a Canadian citizenship and Canadian bachelor degree able to get a green card easier..? Or does USA look at country of birth over the passport seems confusing here

Hi thanks, for the comment! the only thing that the USA looks at is the country of birth for Greencard applications. If you have a Canadian citizenship you can get a TN visa though, because that is based on citizenship and not on where you are born.

@@khangaroofinancethanks for the response, I’m looking for a green card dual intent path. Eb-2 and eb-3 aswell as Hb-1 sound like the best options for the green card I don’t think I could apply for green card on a tn visa without changing status to hb-1. Do you have any success stories from friends moving to green card with the tn viss

To my knowledge, Eb3 and eb2 are classifications and not visas. So you could be for example under an h1b visa with eb3 preference with eb1 being the highest. You can go from Tn to greencard and some employers will do it, but based off what I’ve seen from my friends it’s less likely. This is only my anecdotal experience so I can’t say for sure.

FYI, the greencard backlog for people born in China and India is in the multitude of years. You can check the visa bulletin put out by USCIS for more info

Great video! Unrelated to the topic but I know that you mentioned in the past that you invest in crypto. I will be moving to the US from Canada in a few months and also have some crypto holdings. I would appreciate a video on how you handled that. In particular if you are still using any CEXs that have your Canadian KYC info and if that is ok to do so while in the US. I will also be reaching out to a professional but curious to hear about your experience as well.

Thanks for the comment, all my crypto before I moved was through ETFs so I never really had to do anything special since it was part of my brokerage account I also made a video about my TN taxes, for your viewing pleasure, but make sure that you talk to an accountant

Does this also work for TN Visa holder in US going back to Canada. Let's say if I have 100k unrealized captial gain and I leave US in January going back to Canada. So I am non-resident of US Then move back to Canada, and then I spend more than 5 months outside of US/Canada to travel so that I don't exceed 183 days in Canada to be deemed as resident of Canada to be taxed for the full year. When should the stock selling happen to pull off this strategy. Thanks for your videos btw. I personally am going through the same thing moving from Canada to US as software engineer under TN Visa and I find your video very insightful. 👍
