“You can see me for who I am. Because I need to change who I'm not.” [8:39]
“You can't judge yourself off the so called competition that we have made up in our mind.” [10:49]
“On the other end of suffering is a world that very few, [...] have ever seen. It's a beautiful world. Because that's where you find yourself.” [17:14]
“the only way I became successful, was going towards the truth, as painful and as brutal as it is, it changed me.” [18:56]
“The very best may not be I’m number one. The very best is, ‘did I leave everything inside of me out there.’” [20:23]
“The mind has the tactical advantage over you at all times. At all times of your life, the mind has a tactical advantage over you. [...] It knows what you're afraid of. It knows your insecurities, it knows your deep dark lies and it starts to push you away from that shit. It pushes you in a direction that is comfortable.” [24:46]
“I chose the path of most resistance. Talent not required.” [27:34]
“...even the hardest man, in times of suffering, what we do is we forget how hard we really are.” [31:49]
“I had to use all this negative shit that was making me weak and horrible as a person, I had to use this as the power that now fueled me. I had to flip it on its head” [34:54]
“...seeing the other side, not being afraid to attack what was in front of me, has made me happy.” [35:21]
“When you can find drive in your own doubt, fear, insecurities, you become very unstoppable.” [41:27]
“...in that fucking sack of shit, you have to dive in that to find more. Because if you're not willing to go in there and face yourself, you’re not gonna find anything” [45:16]
“You will never learn from people if we always tap dance around the truth.” [55:12]
“I got to experience the beauty of true, fucking willpower. True, fuck you, I'm going to fail, I'm going to fucking fail, I'm going to fucking fail, I'm going to fucking fail. And I will succeed.” [58:17]
“I want you to realize that this world, life is one big head game, and once you learn to play the motherfucking head game, it's no longer a game anymore at all. You can start living your life.” [1:02:13]

I used to go to the gym to work out, and i'd go on the occasional hike. then one morning on a hike I was sitting at the summit of the mountain I just climbed, completely exhausted. and the thought just hit me, "all I want to do is catch my breath and stumble back to the car and relax... THIS IS WHERE I SHOULD WORK OUT!" Every single morning since that day I hike/trailrun to the summit of that mountain, drop a mat down and workout. I'm up there every morning, it sucks man. i love it. it gives me pride and power, because who fuckin does that?! no one. if they did i'd see them out there, they don't. and when the occasional person comes up on me at the summit, wore out, beat up, and tired, and see's me doing burpees and pushups... i know what Goggins means when he talks about taking souls now. "oh you want to drive comfortably to the gym to work out in a nice comfortable warm climate controlled room? that's cool man. it was 15 degrees F this morning, dropped to 10 at the summit, 10 miles of plunging my legs through the snow just to GET TO where I was going to work out. Doing pushups face down in the icey dirt." same workout as you, but which option builds a stronger man? the man that walks out of the comfortable gym and the man who comes off the mountain are two completely different calibers of fortitude and strength. I'll never go to a gym again, it's too fuckin easy. I'm 35 years old and was fat and unsuccessful just 3 years ago. not anymore. sometimes I watch videos like this just to remember what triggered me to change in the first place. if you live near a mountain I challenge you, wake up 3-4 am drive out to the trailhead race the sun to the peak (try to get there before it comes up) drop your mat, go hard, jog back to your car. you're going to learn some shit about yourself real quick on this trip. out there no one is around to help you, there's no easy way out. you don't have a choice. it all falls on you. pull that "Goggins" or "Tyson" or whoever inspires you out of yourself, understand that you are doing some shit that NO ONE else is doing. you are taking it to a level no one else is even considering. it's going to test you. sometimes you drink too much of your water and have to make the trip back completely dehydrated. sometimes you're going to twist your ankle and have to push through the pain. sometimes your going to overheat. sometimes your going to freeze. it's fuckin dangerous man. not going to lie to you. you could die. question is are you man enough to be faced with those situations and survive? you'll find out real quick, I promise you that. no matter which mountain you choose... it's going to fuck you up. but that feeling of getting back to the trailhead and looking up at "your gym" and thinking to yourself... "yeah I just did that shit. who fuckin does that?" can't beat it.

The truth that I have realized is; People who don’t go through intense emotional and psychological misery and pain will never be as motivated to completely change themselves and their life for the better. I have been through immense emotional and psychological distress and now I understand. At this exact moment in my life I am at the beginning of a massive transformation for the better because it has become extremely painful to remain in the same situation, stagnating, and just existing. I have decided enough is enough. Motivation through the roof like never before. My depression has taken me to this point; an intense drive to become my greatest version. And what I now realize is that the obstacles and difficulties I will face during my transformation will never begin to compare to the pain of depression, misery, hopelessness, and lack of fulfillment, not even a chance. And that is why the journey is so damn worth it, period.

This video, this man, is helping me in a crucial period of my life. I’m 22 severely depressed since I dropped out of school at 14. My family is full of shit, both of my parents have untreated psychiatric and psychological disorders and displayed abusive behaviours towards my siblings and me for our entire childhood and adolescence. And, of course, I’ve been also been blessed with ADD and autistic traits, plus social anxiety. Growing up into a decent & functional member of the society is hard when your background is messed up. I spent countless night in my bed pondering the possibility of being born in this reality just to be a loser. You know, when you watch your peers enjoying their lives, in the blinding glare of the youth, while you're alone in your messy bedroom, didn't took a shower in three days, stuck in the changing maze of your mind, desperation and nihilism become your only companions. I don’t know if I’ll ever overcome my fears, if I’ll ever have a group of friends, if I’ll ever be able to walk around the streets confidently with my chin up, but I’ll try, again and again, until my body will be just a handful of dust. I wish you all to be able to be satisfied with yourselves, to overcome your limits. And thank you, David.

Remember to take it step by step and to hold yourself accountable while also being understanding with yourself. I struggled with comparing myself with others for years and never knew how much how I talked to myself had an effect. We can treat others with kindness and compassion yet show ourselves non and that isn't right. If you strive for improvement you will have it and don't forget it. On days when you struggle compare yourself only to your younger and less disciplined self, recognize that you are making progress and that you are worth it. We can all build ourselves into something we are proud of, some of us just need to take more personal accountability than others because we didnt get the support we should have from our parents. You can do it man.

Goggins is so Relatable! Never found someone I understand so well and think so much like. When you go through the pit of hell, you get raw AF! But you can either allow that to destroy you, or use that pain and agony and hardship as tools and proof of what you are truly capable of 🎯🔥🔥🔥

I’m 35 from a small town outside Indianapolis. I have struggled with reading, my weight & just following the crowd. I am a family of 8 good parents/family however I’m the only sibling with the learning disabilities. NOT looking for sympathy. All facts! I once asked GOD why me? For a brief moment I wanted to be someone else. I came across a video of yours talking about suffering & how on the other side will find growth! I believe in GOD, I believe in myself & I believe in you as well. Its way more than motivations. Thanks for all you do. Working on your book /workbook. Thankful for you

I have his book. Currently on chapter 5, and had it not been for the challenges at the end of every chapter I would have finished the book already. It's raw, it speaks the absolute truth, and it's very direct. For people who wants to hear the truth and actually deal with the root of the problem face to face....honest/real self talk...this book is for you. Love this interview...David Goggins rock, he's the man! It's true, a lot of us wants to change and be their own person, but not everyone is willing to go to war with themselves and leave their comfort zone behind. Reading David Goggins' book is truly an eye opener. I can't count how many times I have an "aha" moment reading through the pages of his book, mind you I'm still just on chapter 5 of his book.

My faith in Jesus Christ first, plus the inspirational story of Googins changed my mindset. From 205pounds May 1, 2023 to 165pounds October 10, 2023. Five days shy of my birthday. Leaner and stronger than when i was heavier. Mindset ia clear and im at peace that transcends all understanding. Goals are set another mountain to climb. Fasting, strength training, attitude of gratitude and above all and let me boast about the favor of God in my life. Lost from 23 years of age to driven at 27. Hurt myself october 1, 2023. Worst pain of my life, lower back injury. October 11, 2023 90percent healed by Jesus. Lesson learned put God first in your life, injured a weak. Went through the rebirth of an eagle and im back moving forward.

David Goggins is the real life version of taking the red pill in the Matrix, and waking up to a whole new realization of one’s true power. Pure inspiration. I hope he makes a kid-friendly statement someday 😂 I played some of this for my kids anyway. If they grow up cussing like soldiers and sailors, but with a fraction of DG’s self mastery, that’s a price I can accept.
