Daisy is soooo sweet and gentle. It'll take a little while for her to reprogram her brain to go "through" the gate. She'll be fine. I like the way you make things. People usually want to be helpful. I use those latches exclusively with all of my doors and gates. Drill a hole through the post and attach a length of baling twine to the latch so you can open from the inside. Lovely job. 💐

I like the multi purpose run, that will be a asset to you and your family. Now the kids can feed the goats and not be worried about being knocked over. How about grading along the outside of the barn so the wind won't be blowing on daisey while she sleeping. Have a Great Day, GOD BLESS

Great job Kevin!... Didn't think of the triangular opening but thinking now yea makes sense and no one will get possibly pinched in the door. better than rectangular swinging door idea. Gonna 'steal' that idea next time I have to build another one. Yea, a little bed frame box and straw she can snuggle in off the ground and Daisy will be in heaven!

I think you did a great job on the gate. I am an old guy and I got a good idea from you. Put the hinges on the vertical post and then build off it. Never thought of doing it that way. Sure is easier putting the hinges on the gate.

Happy Holidays Everyone. Glad 2020 is almost over. Daisy sure could use a nice cuddlely soft bed in her own space. As she gets older, the gate bar is going to be difficult for her to climb over. Right now, it's all the way up to her neck and chin. Lowering down a few inches could make a world of difference for her. Dogs get pains in their joints also as they get older. I'm getting ready to do the same things for 2 LGD GP/Anatolian females. They currently climb through a field fence that has a stretched part that is higher than your gate and smaller. I am cross fencing the new place with paddocks for my dairy goats and want the LGD girls to have access to each paddock. This helps.. Thank you!

Whenever I would go in to "THE BIG BOX STORES'" there would be two different options on screw bits. It took me a minute to figure out what is the difference between the two. The more expensive of the two, was usually for my Hammer Drill, to take the extra torque. Cheaper one will bust the tips off.

Yeah now Daisy has a spot where she can escape to when she wants to. It's important for a dog to have a place they know is there own where they can eat in peace. What's 3 + 3 and what's 5 +1? Uh, 6! 😂 It doesn't matter, either way the outcome is the same and the end result is a functional gate. Watching how you built the gate is the way I would because you made it look easy. The bits are breaking because they are hardened steel which makes them brittle. After putting the screws in most of the way and before the bit breaks try using a 3/8 ratchet to tighten them the rest of the way. If that's not easy, then drill the pilot holes slightly larger which will allow the screws to go in easier. Before you know it, Daisy will be going in and out of the gate without thinking because she knows the goats can't get in. Nice job Kevin.
