it's the same problem with Widowmaker - if you dont hit your shoots, youd dont contribute to the team and are a burden. if it is not working, player should swap. so it always depends on the skill of the player. when they are decent enough, its okay to stay on the hero. you cant always rely on your team to make up for your lack of contribution. it is a two sided sword.

He's kinda annoying to see on your team. Honzo tends to either be too effective in which the enemies start playing to counter him specifically to reduce his impact; Alternatively, he's not playing effectively enough to the same point of reduced impact. Up until recently it was really bad seeing a Honzo on your team if you had a Sombra as most of the time the Sombra can just farm Honzo all day long.

Biggest piece of advice. A hanzo is a sniping character. Means mid to long range, at no point as a hanzo should you be frontline. You job is to play more midrange and long range. Same kinda goes watch ML7 play Ana. He plays a lot of back range but repositions himself to keep line of sight of the tank making space. I play hanzo Ashe Ana kinda in the same manner. Mid-long range assisting the tank make space while minding flanks for support to turn and help. Sometimes not possible all at once, but ya win some you lose some.

this dude only got away with this play style because his supports were doing overtime keeping him alive. He was at super low Hp dozens of times in the middle of the enemy team and was always getting instantly pumped with heals. All the other problems with his gameplay aside, the main reason he cant win is because you cannot rely on that sort of support every single game. I can guarantee that this was the most "on" this dude has ever been and he thinks he was amazing. But most games he's probably doing this exact same thing and just falling over because the other team doesnt have trash aim and he doesn't get uber heals the whole time.

If I’m support and my tank or dps want to play spawn doors I let them. I play objective as usual and if they complain about not getting healed then I tell them to play objective if they want healed, if not learn health packs and timers for them. When I play tank or dps and want to play their spawn I take road hog, soldier, sombra or reaper so I can heal myself if needed. It’s just common sense.

I think a hanzo gets told to swap because right now they feel like a slightly worse widow, and are also a very inconsistent hero, similarly to widow. They don't deal consistent damage and are hard to get headshots off with often (in most ranks anyways) and with mobility becoming meta more and more recently it feels like he has been pushed back because its even harder to hit now than ever.
