5 years long distance relationship between Italy 🇮🇹 and 🇲🇾 Malaysia way back in late 90s. No Skype, no Whatsapp, no facetime, no home internet. Just written letters, emails (which back then would take a trip to cyber cafe to read or write) and expensive phone calls using call cards with long number to dial before being able to place the actual call! We saw each other every 6 months or so, when one of us made the 13 hrs trip and stayed together for a week or so. Finally after 5 years, we got married and that was 20 years ago. We survived time and distance. We trusted each other, stayed faithful even when many 'normal' relationships failed in that department. My husband always joke saying we could have bought a house with the money we spent on phone calls and flight tickets. We would totally do it all over again.. in a heartbeat!

My husband and I met in university here in Canada. My husband, Morgan, is originally from the UK. I was in my final year of my program, and Morgan was doing an exchange. We met through mutual friends and went on our first date a month afterwards. We were together for almost three months before he had to go back to the UK. The first time I dropped Morgan off at Pearson [airport] was brutal. The border officer saw how upset I was and wouldn't let Morgan go through security unless he turned around and gave me a final hug goodbye. Pearson and Gatwick airport have seen me at my absolute best and worst. We did long distance for three and a half years. It wasn't easy - there were a lot of text messages, emails, Skype / FaceTime, hand-written cards, and flights back and forth for visits. We got married in 2015 and we are currently going through the immigration process. It's hard to believe that this June we will have been together for five years :) The long distance was well worth it to have him here.

Eman Ahmad To be honest, we don't know the future. But I don't think at our age, we'll be likely to marry. It would be extremely difficult with our financial situation, family issues, health, etc... to say nothing of immigration. I'm 71. But none of this keeps us from loving each other. Love knows no distance and age is just a number. But reality can often be harsh. But we are lucky with the communications technology and social media available to us now.

Eman Ahmad I'm a bit older than he is, but we're both senior citizens. Lol. I'm in the USA, and he's in Australia. Like many LDR couples in this Internet Age, we met on social media. It's been a slow and steady process building up our relationship. We have our ups and downs, time zone issues, and all the normal issues that are part of a international LDR. And just like the video mentioned, we had to learn to accept the lonely times, share the happy times; be there for each other as much as we could in the sad times; and encourage each other to live our own lives on opposite sides of the world. ..While keeping us a priority in our online LDR world. It takes patience, understanding, acceptance, trust, and love. As I said, we don't know the future, but every time we hit a rough spot, we say to each other. We have a good thing going. Let's keep it going. Our love is magickal.

It's a fun "How well do you know me" questions game. It's hard to stay in long distance but with small efforts we can learn to enjoy it. At the end we all will unite & will be stronger than ever 💞

Although trust is a huge deal. If God is not in the center of all of it it will never work anyway. I just turned 50 in October my new wife and I are living 12 hours apart she has one more year to graduate from college to be a doctor then we will be together everyday. It's much more difficult for young people to be in a long distance relationship and it is older individuals. For the most part one because we learn to manage our money better or simply have more money period as you get older you have more patience which is also a huge help. Just remember God works on his time not ours why he chose to wait so long for me to have a wife I don't know. But I feel blessed every single day that I get to talk to her and I have her in my life. For all the negative comments that you have, it's possible because it did not work for you or you just have a negative attitude. For me and my new wife we put 100% faith in God because we know he will take us where we need to be. For the rest of you may God bless you and your relationship and stand strong against those that will stand against you.

He is from USA and I m from Greece. We met on AMWF group. We started talking and bond by conversations and spend lots of time on video calls. We knew that it meant to be together. He traveled in Greece and proposed me. People said that you don't feel same when it's in person. I would say "it feels much more magical!" He is the same person as in video calls but more amazing live together. We finally married after 6 months, I went to visit him and meet his family too. Now we are waiting our new member to complete our family. We have, listen to this: A long distance relationship, 6 hours time difference And her first language is Thai while mine is Swedish. Just try to imagine a situation where you can't say EXACTLY what you want to say, the closest you get is something similar. It's hard from time to time. But at the same time it's totally worth it! I went for long distance work for 2 yrs when I had just met sarah now my wife of two children and God really taken care of her because i prayed for her every single moment and when we met again got married. Now its getting over to 3 yrs since again I left my family for another long distance work. Had covid 19 not set in, i would be now with my family rejoicing & praising JESUS. But when covid set in even my flight which was due to go home was conciled. But I I have always prayed for my family and my wife always pray for me so we are both not warried of any thing because our faith is pluged in JESUS CHRIST whome we undoubt is gonna intercept us any time very soon and then we shall leap with overflowing joy.

Actually tomorrow morning we have to say goodbye and it's really hard on the both of us, we just had the most amazing weekend, I felt so loved and so comfortable with him and I've never been that way with anyone, it just felt so natural, but it's worth it, we still have our whole lives to look forward to, we have to wait practically a whole year now until the next time we see each other.

Jason Kuy Hi Jason, my partner now has a visa which allows her to stay here for up to 2 years while they process all the evidence we supplied. This can take them a while since they have so many other applications to go through. 1st part is actually supplying all the evidence to submit the actual application. 2nd part is the waiting game on the temp visa while you wait for a definite answer.

I’m also Australian and my boyfriend of 1.5 years went back to study in his country just yesterday. After his studies were also thinking of a partner visa if the LDR works out. I know the partner visa process for us can be a bit lengthy but I hope it all works out for you and your girlfriend :)
