ahh 176lbs max for the luggage +wife+kid is quite low. A 5yr old is 40lbs-45lbs, which means i need to have a tough conversation with my wife…

You can also get a front basket. I believe that holds somewhere around 40 pounds

I just got the Packer 1, and am generally really happy with it, but trying to figure out the best way to attach a child seat while using the seat pad for an older kid. In your video (1:34 mark), it looks like you clamped the seat onto the wood running board, not the outer tube--is that right? I'm running into an issue where I can't fit the seat on the tube with the thickness of the running board, but need to leave the board on to attach the seat pad. It's a nice bike, but seems like kind of a major oversight, and I've been disappointed that they won't sell me the wood running board as a spare part (I was thinking I could cut it down to size).

Yes, the seat attaches to the running board which I thought came standard, I'd reach out to make sure they didn't short you on it
