Condoms aren't sufficient protection against HPV or Chlamydia. And for Chlamydia (which won't be what Holly has bc then she would have been treated with an antibiotic rightaway), tests on males are often false negative, so you can't even 100% rule it out before having sex with a new partner.

@@klatskyn The video thumbnail said 'No more condoms!' which suggests that her choice of protection means that she doesn't need to use condoms. Maybe she meant it just for her, but the implication from the thumbnail is that no one needs condoms with that method of protection.

I really hope this doesn’t come across rude or negative! I watched you for yearsss but I think this year I’ve struggled to relate, enjoy your content and often doesn’t appeal to me. Obviously just my opinion. I loved ur uni content, solo travelling and these chatty vids but it’s felt a bit all over the place (SORRY😬). I appreciate the openness of these videos and it's good to talk about some of these problems. I just find, as a very long-term viewer, the more I watch your content nowadays, the more disconnected I feel from it. This isn't a criticism but not many adults are influencers who earn lots of money and therefore don't have to traditionally work. I just find it strange that you've topped a class at one of the worlds best universities and yet haven't used your degree to an actual 'adult' job. It has started to feel a little strange to try and connect with content that actually isn't really a reflection of adult life. 99% of the population don't have the luxury of not really working a salaried job and getting to travel all over the world. Its not to say the new style of content is bad, it just takes time to find a different demographic and maintain or grow the popularity

I feel the same way. She wants to continue the "childhood life", by not working at all. It is sad, but predictable, since from the beginning it was clear she had no life experience and was not interested in one. She clearly has arrested development, and all these "new" experiences she has been having should have been had early in development... She can afford to not be an adult, from generational wealth and the influencer paycheck. But it is ever so odd that one with an education just wants it for status and not actually contributing to society in anyway. I wish her the best...

@@cultura6446 oof I feel like there is a lot of resentment from your side. How do you know she studied what and where she did for the status of it? @Sandy-of6gq it's not anger at all. Holly can choose to live however she wants, as long as she's happy. From a personal standpoint, I have worked incredibly hard to earn a degree, and personally want to use it to work in the field I've put a lot of effort into. Not everyone has to do the same. However, if you make a video stating that your channel is losing viewers, it is not wrong of me to explain how I feel slightly alienated by current content compared to previous content. People grow and change, there's nothing wrong there, but that will also mean your audience changes. I'm certainly not resentful of Holly's opportunities. She has worked hard to be where she is and deserves every good thing that comes her way. If you read my original comment, it states that it's not a critique, it's just rationale from a viewer who has been here from the start of this channel

Hey Holly! Don't feel bad that your audience is changing. Your content and your life is changing, that's all. Personally I still watch loads of your old content because studying happens to be the aesthetic I found you for, whereas your current life isn't. That being said, there are people out there who don't particularly care for studying, but do for travel and productivity. That's fine. You just have to give yourself the time to find your new audience. But you had a massively positive effect on my life when your content was more related to my life, and I'm sure that will be true for members of your audience relating to your current content.

Hey dear Holly, I’m a very silent viewer almost since the beginning of this channel. I just wanted to say thank you for this video - and for all of them! I’m sorry for all the struggles that you had and are still facing. Hoping they pass soon. I was surprised to see a few judgemental comments here about your work or stage of life. I truly hope that you can ignore them. You’re a very, very hardworking and smart person. And you’ve worked so hard to be in the place you are with the freedom and flexibility that you have. You’ve earned it all with your work and perseverance. And please don’t listen to the comments that put down your struggles as less important than other’s. You share your personal experience without comparing it with others, without saying that others have it easier, without anything of that sort. But some judgemental people still interpret it that way. It takes a lot of courage to share as openly as you do (and to risk backlash). And it’s amazing how you dare to speak openly about one taboo topic after another. Thank you for that! And for everything.

Some watchers just want you to be an ideal of success so they can self-project and justify over studying and anxiety. I think you have survived the dangers of that side of the internet and if that means losing viewers, girl... it's worth it. I would love an adulting crisis series, as I feel so many of your viewers, as me, are your age and going through similar stuff, adulting can hit so hard and is very different for everyone, especially if one has stuff going on that's maybe usually kept quiet/stigmatised or whatever. Even more strong that you're willing to share all that so openly! At the same time I also want to say it's ok to have periods of not sharing stuff, or of maybe just trying out different things and just living, and if as a result some viewers disengage well that's okay too, because first and foremost you live for yourself and whether or not you take us along is less important. 🌌 Don't let the pressure to travel abroad, build a super consistent business, or whatever, let you distract from finding out what it is you want, everyone's path is very different, while at the same time somehow we're struggling with similar steps into adulthood. Lots of love from Spain ☀️☀️

Honestly STIs happen, and there needs to be more education around them. Some are symptomless until too late. It's always good to have a health MOT when you have a new partner, as even if you are super careful with condoms etc, they aren't 100% effective. HPV comes to mind with being symptomless as it doesn't affect men, only women, so it's super important to get a smear test and the HPV vaccine to reduce the chance of getting cervical cancer.

Hey Holly, I am from China andI have been watching ur videos for a very ling time, not sure started when! When I clicked into thia video, I was shocked. First, people always think that you re a runner, have a very healthy lifestyle, how come you have these health-related problems? And truly appreciate your sharing STD, and I really hope that you can make another video or more videos to clarify it. Cuz, just like you said, it's very common, but fee people are willing to talk about it, you know social stigma. But it's important for girls to know more details, like how you sense you need to have examinations? what examines should we take before having sexual interaction with a man? etc. Very happy to see your positive attitude!!! We are all with you, dear Holly.❤❤❤

Hey holly! The coments are wild huh, but take them as they are: just opinions of random people that only see a little bit of your life, with that being said, here goes one comment that i hope is helpfull to you. I am not consider me your target audience since im 31 and latinamerican, but im a long time viewer because at some point i was also at the uni and then I just stay because I find your content entertaining and the level of dedication and uniqueness that you put in is remarkable! but in the travel vlog series of this year i stopped watching for a silly reason but maybe not? It was because the dynamics of your videos changes when you are with someone and since your videos where consistent and simillar and all of the sudden change to being with your bf in it, just felt different and thats kinda it, i was used to watching your point of view and sporadic collaborations and seing you with someone gives another "voice" to your vlogs that for people who dont like change as much, may find unconfortable. Sorry if i dont write in english well :( i hope that my message help you in any way and have a greaaat day❤ Edit: i forget to add that no matter what content you do and how many people watch it or not, ultimally is you channel and your life and enjoy and embrace the process of change :) and thank you for sharing and for your videos always!!

I get that Holly's channel is pretty personal but this just takes the parasocial entitlement to every detail of her life and any medical issues she experiences to a new level. Especially after she specifically requests people to not speculate in the comments and be respectful, as this has been a very upsetting subject for her. Your little surprise emoji isn't cute and tension diffusing, it's irritatingly out of touch.

@@mashak5135 Well, since Holly Gabrielle is a lifestyle influencer that gives sexual (dis) education tips, and that choose to tell the world she has an STI, the question from this user is totally valid. In fact, this influencer posted a video a few weeks ago advocating for people to stop using condoms. In fact, the title and thumbnail were "NO MORE CONDOMS". So I think, unfortunately, your judgement is very clouded.

@cultura6446 Stop trying to make excuses for why this isn't a prying question on the basis of "well, she posts about it and it's her job". That's exactly the parasocial entitlement nonsense I'm referring to. Your "news flash" about her previous videos thumbnail btw I'm perfectly aware of, in addition to the other comments from people on that video then about how condoms are needed for STI prevention. Because of that, and wanting to clarify her message, she updated her title and thumbnail in addition to being very clear in the comments. That aside, my judgment is perfectly in tact for pointing out how gross it is to start asking sex life questions when the person themselves has said, in many words, that they will talk about it but at their own pace and is requesting decency and time in the meanwhile.

@@mashak5135 The reality is that people are free to ask whatever questions and with regards to hate speech this does not constituent as discrimination. It's Holly's judgement call to make as to whether or not she considers a question too personal for her to answer. As you said she may reveal more details in the future if or when she feels comfortable. If she decides to do so she may decide to reflect on previous questions people have asked.

I have to agree. Yes people move at different speeds-but I had a full time job, had my own flat and keeping it with my own wages when I was 17 years old. I was mature for 17. Holly is growing as a human at the speed that’s right for her . Which is 100% the right thing to do. To do what’s right for you and not what society says- however - if this has been a tough year- try losing both your parents, having a heart attack , your dog passing away , 2 friends passing away and not seeing your wife/husband for 3 weeks because you are moved to a care centre in another city all while being terminally ill. Some people have no idea what real problems are.
