But in this specific hand, playing against a drunk player who had 14 shots of tequila and blocking the nuts/having a re-draw to the nuts is the key factor..not mentionning that you already have the nut straight beating sets, 2 pairs, lower straight etc. This is making the fold way worse IMO. Like if there is any scenario where you think you are somehow behind in a hand and considering a call, this is the one to do it...give him the money if he has it. This is obviously a +EV call, not a fold..

In your head in these spots it seems like it's of massive importance to be right, & a lot of players, usually those w/huge egos don't want to get bluffed or outplayed (especially by someone who's had 12 shots of tequila) when that is of far less importance than let yourself believe, all because you want that great lay down or hero call moment that makes you look like a genius... but, w/all due respect, Nick is a lot of things, but a genius he is not. In reality, in this situation you have to consider the odds above everything else, & if you're beat, you're just beat. This goes especially when it's only like, what? 5k more to call & you already have like 20k invested in the pot? That's like 5 to 1 on a call, & for those odds, even if his suspicion were correct & he's somehow beat by some weird KX of clubs type of hand for a made flush, it's *_still a_* terrible fold, as (obviously) Nick has the A♣ which (not only blocks all nutted hands, but) gives him the redraw to the absolute nuts. This was honestly a _"Poker just isn't your game."_ kind of moment, & I wouldn't be surprised if he cried himself to sleep obsessing over it when he got home. *Edited:* for clarity

what's crazy to me is him and airball accuse Garret of lineup fixing (which I'm sure Garret does) but then he does the same thing. This guy is a huge nit he always has the lowest VPIP and he gets to play in the juiciest games he wants. I have tried to find all ways to justify this fold but I don’t think there is any way you can lay it down with the nut redraw holding but straight. With 4 players calling the raise pre it is possible someone had 2 clubs but the bet could have come from KJ king of clubs or 2 pair like Q 10. I just don’t see any version of ever folding the nut straight and the redraw to the nut flush in that situation though
