It's a pity you can't take your bikes with you 😢 love the audio 😀 Don't have many street markets here in Australia only when special occasions! 😉 We do have a very ĺarge Central Market where I live in Oz been going for well over 100 yrs! Just found your channel a few months ago and think your doing an amazing job mate, good luck with the move to Thailand, I married an amazing Thai lady over 20 years ago and are still going strong we have 2 fantastic kids together, I like you went to Thailand and fell in love with the place and moved out their within 3 months and met my wife while travelling in the north east of Thailand, we split are time between Thailand and the uk for work and and the kids school at the moment, follow your heart and dreams as life is very short, hopefully in the future I can invite you to meet up with my thai family and show you some very special places in the north east of Thailand that are very well kept secrets, keep up the amazing videos 🙌.

Hey ! There's that beautiful church at 8.55. I sat on those steps in July 2017 and ate a tasty long crispy skinned German sausage on a roll with fried onion bits made by a guy who had his little moveable food stall parked outside the church. He was only there for a couple of weeks and I was there on his last day. Best sausage in a roll I've ever had. Wish we had that in Sydney. I loved Spitalfields market. Used to get there via Liverpool station all the way from Ongar. Man, those were the days ! Thanks, Darren ! Much appreciated !

Back in the 70's, I started my career in catering. My boss told me that we all eat with our eyes & presentation was a trick. These tourist markets are incredibly expensive & charm the cash from your pockets.

In our Soi in Bangkok we have street market 5 days a week. We buy all our vegetables fish pork chicken there. Half the price of the supermarkets. When I go back to Australia to my family who I love unconditionally I get homesick for Thailand. I think you’ll find out what I mean Darren. Chog Dee

I used to work right near Spitalfields back in the 90’s. I used to go there lunchtimes to get food from either the market or Benji’s for a sandwich/baguette and watch people playing five a side football. Do they still have any football there or did all that close down a long time ago? I couldn’t see it on the vid.

It's a no Brainer daz for you to leave and go Thailand not just the food but everything is so cheap there you will miss the uk I still do my 2 lads are there and I miss them and me dad brothers and sisters but I get to go back to england to see them every 2 years wish it was every year but flights and renting a place mounts up

soulless and overpriced IMO - i worked on the refurb of the fruit and wool exchange opposite and they have brass tracks down in the atrium marking where one of jack the rippers victims was killed - found that interesting

HI Darren Great review of the markets yes agree with you that Borough Street market is number one and both Spitafield & Smithfield have changed a lot and you will see that a lots of markets have just disappeared now. I suppose its the end of where you used to get everyday things and good prices and great community feel. Used to have lovely places to eat and ideal if you wanted great fresh vegetables and other types of food. So only choice you have are supermarkets. I see what you meant when you were in Thailand. Again thank you for sharing.
