Oh yeah! the vanishing hitchhiker! about the coat in the grave, here in my town, in Brazil, a city called Belém do Pará, there´s a legend about a peace of clothing leaned to a ghost and founded in his grave! And it´s a girl too! It´s a more ludicrous tale, about a man encountering a girl... the two make love and the girl asks for a remembrance for the moment... the guy leaves a shirt or something like it... but he is enchanted, haunted some say, and cannot forget the girl... and by the way, the girl leaves with him an adress, her home... the guy, deeply enamorated, after days of passion thoughts goes to the place of the girl, and her father tells him the awful truth... the girl had passed away many years ago... he even tells the guy where is her grave... the guy, in despair, goes to the cemetery and discover the girl´s grave... with the peace of clothing wich he gave to her folded over the tombstone!

If the legend/story of la lorona is true then why did the mother reach the gates of heaven but the innocent children didn't. I just thought someone as innocent as babies and children would automatically be allowed in to heaven. The mother shouldn't have been near the gates of heaven for killing the children. I know God can forgive people who have done wrong, but not all should be forgiven. Even if god has forgiven people it shouldn't guarantee them a spot in heaven. I just think the children should have gone to heaven and the mother left in her afterlife to suffer.

Emma sunnyday I think it’s kind of sad. The folklore depicted in this show has been passed down for centuries. Lessons and wisdom are handed down, through ghost lore. If people don’t keep passing it down, it will die out.

I love these old folk tales. I recently saw the “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” movie and it was extremely disappointing. It butchered the folktales terribly. It could not have been farther from the true spirit of ghost lore.
