One improvement it needs to make it a more perfect jig… it needs to be able to adjust the height of the top side angle instead of the "one size fits all” angle…. Other than that, you got yourself a great looking jig!
@TheWeaversofEternity5 ай бұрын
Great point Holly! I think the angle although not adjustable should be comfortable for most users. But yes, an adjustable angle system would be ideal. I'll have to pass that along to colleagues. Thanks for the suggestion!
@ZippedUpKitz5 ай бұрын
@@TheWeaversofEternity yeah for a lot of people it would be… the one i put together back in 2020, I made it to where i could change the angle using a 6 inch threaded bolt and a wing nut… with my spine being fused the way it is, a flat jig just killed my neck… so, I figured out a way to adjust it … I like your jig very much… its more stable… mine didn’t stay in place and slid around if I wasn't careful…

The jig is AWESOME. Quick question: Are the notches on the black plate in metric or imperial spacing? Question because I live in Europe.
@TheWeaversofEternity5 ай бұрын
Great question! The notches are in imperial spacing 1 inch apart, so unfortunately they do not cater to metric use. To be honest, I myself rarely use the notches on the jig I use and I tend to just measure the bracelet with a measuring tape as buckles can vary in length. Knot and loop bracelets can affect that too of course. But that's just me, thank you for asking as I forgot to address that in the video!

What’s the best size paracord for making most of the items you make? Cheers.
@TheWeaversofEternity5 ай бұрын
A majority of the projects on this channel are done with 550 paracord. I personally feel that's the most versatile thickness, but people often go thinner if they want lighter weight projects. So it's really up to you.

Sweet design - one thing that has me on the fence though - on my past 3 jigs, I've had to put cm on myself as they only came with inches - on this, I see no units at all? 😮
@TheWeaversofEternity4 ай бұрын
Yeah, that was a bit of an oversight on this one. There are markings, but they are in imperial at 1 inch increments. I've suggested to my team that we perhaps start including a sticker that can be attached for both imperial and metric measurements.
@K_Ham864 ай бұрын
@@TheWeaversofEternity That would be awesome. I'm cutting and taping measure-tapes to my jigs (a bit of a pet peeve for me since inches just doesn't work at all for my brain 😂)

I noticed for one of the scenes you were wearing a Casio gshock ga 2100… I was wondering whether you had any opinions or experiences you had to share with it as I have been looking at it for a while.
@TheWeaversofEternity5 ай бұрын
I like that watch. It's a great no-nonsense option for day to day wear, active wear, or as a tool watch. It's quite rugged and durable so I'm not afraid of babying it if I'm doing any sort of manual or physical labor. The light on it is fine and the hands do have a bit of lume on them as well. But I do also have a GW-B5600 and I would take that one over the GA 2100 any day though.

I made a heavy duty version of Mr. Coops Jig. 2 pieces of 18mm baltic birch with a wide base at the corners similar to the speedy jig. A hardwood insert glued into the jig as the guide wide enough for that a metal tape measure and t-slot. Heavy duty picture hanger froma European company that do not bend.

Yes.., I've made several monkey's fist "impact tools" that are much like blackjacks you can see them all here: kzbin.info/aero/PLVpANXnNebdN4MMi3ZrFaTC5PbiVjWzab Is there a specific type of blackjack you'd like to see though?

I use the “ouchless” hair bands when creating bracelets for former students of mine (I also will start using the silicone bracelets soon)- I use that as the core and then just knot on the band itself. The problem is, on the jig that I have, the “posts” can only get about 4” from one to the other- and sometimes this stretches the band out too much to fit a younger person. How close can they get on this jig? Could this jig be used for different types of thread- embroidery, rat rail, yarn, etc.? The design looks great, by the way. 👍 Later… I think I answered my own question with the horizontal bars you have on the jig… I could put any hair band or silicone bracelet on those bars and knot on them. How close can those two adjustable ends get from each other?
@TheWeaversofEternity5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and to answer your question, at their closest, about 5.25" or a hair over 13 cm for the Aztec buckle holders, but for the horizontal metal pins, about 2.5" or 6.35 cm.
@cheerwhiner78295 ай бұрын
@@TheWeaversofEternity That sounds great- I will probably buy one then- the horizontal bar could be very useful. Thanks 👍

Very nice…. But two things: What about a monkey fist jig? Can the measurements also come in centimeters for us across the pond? A heavy jig with a stand is nice features.
@TheWeaversofEternity5 ай бұрын
We'll most likely be making updated monkey's fist jigs in the future, but I can't say for sure yet. I will talk to my team about having measurements in metric for future jigs as well. I'm going to suggest something like a metric ruled sticker that can be placed on the jig to add metric measurements.
@stephangrobler55245 ай бұрын
Thanks. I will purchase an “updated” version that is at least metric engraved.
