Game 2 was nuts. It’s a double edged sword, the DON hits like a truck and you’ve gotta dedicate a lot of resources to it but they also dedicate a lot of it (don + tatsu + Pelliper). That double trick room and ape aqua jet were huge game changers, but I think even if he took out Amarouge it was game over, since annihilape denies the tailwind then just finishes urshifu. Insane comeback.

I don’t know if you saw Foo’s video on H-Electrode + Rillaboom grass terrain/fake out. Chloroblast in grass terrain with Tera and choice specs can basically one shot anything and grass terrain means you can use the move three times. You could also pull off a similar strategy with a feint user to focus down whatever you want.

I was just about to go to bed, but I'll post a comment with a tally of the Top 6 'mons Aaron has encountered the most in Regulation D: 1. Flutter Mane (8 sightings), 1. Urshifu [all presumed Rapid Strike] (8 sightings), 1. Dragonite (8 sightings), 4. Chien Pao (6 sightings), 4. Tornadus (6 sightings), 6. Heatran (5 sightings), Out of the 51 unique pokémon you've come across so far this format, these are the most consistent. I'm hoping to start getting into VGC this season, so knowing what the most common pokémon I'll be going up against is useful for my team building.

It's interesting because those 6 together on a team actually make for a very strong strategy. Amoongus could replace Heatran but those 6 are an excellent starting point!

The damage rolls at the end were crazy. The -4 Overheat did 57 damage, meaning the -6 Overheat would be expected to do 42.75 damage with the same roll, yet it killed at 50. 42.75 is 85.5% of 50. Since a damage roll varies between 85% and 100%, these were the literal lowest and highest damage rolls possible, which is a 1/256 chance.

My favorite regulation D strategy is what I’ve named bellybear. Ursaluna belly drum with sitrus next to cresselia. If you time it well you can get truck room up, u turn or volt switch into ursaluna. Then belly drum and lunar blessing before taking damage.
