Ive been to many a concert but the Darren show I went to, i never felt a more loving, connected and safe space. It also just goes to show how much of genuine true person Darren is. And hearing this song live really just made it mean that much more to me. Nothing like Darren singing it to us and we singing it right back at him. A truly beautiful moment

A little known fact about Savage Garden is that before they made it big they took a gig at a local show. Between the booking and show date they made it in the industry, No.1 etc. They honored the commitment they had made and played the local show.

Anton, if you watch interviews of Darren, you will definitely see how kind, loving and caring he is. He is a beauty human inside and out. Very humble as well. “Crash and burn” had me in tears the first time I heard it twenty three years ago. It still hits hard now. Darren’s solo work is as good, if not better. I always love to hear your thoughts on songs Anton!

The song and video holds a special place for me. it was the first thing I ever looked up on the internet! 13 year old me at a cyber cafe and I felt like the world was at my fingertips and I decided I wanted to see this music video and song because I had watched on TV a few years prior as a little kid on a music tv show and it stuck with me :)

This song means a lot to me, it first came out when I was a teenager and me and friend still always say to each other in hard situations even now (I’m 39 now) “ when it’s over you’ll breathe again “ his music has always helped me with mental health struggles my whole life! I felt he knew exactly how I felt when I thought I was the only one when I was young x incredible man

When I heard this song the first time I didn't really understand much since I was in a store and it took me 15 years to hear it again in YT Music, the song is very inspirational, I think the best of both SG as the group and Hayes himself as a solo.

Darren's song writing was decades ahead of his time. Darren has been very open with his own mental health struggles which very much comes through in his lyrics. These songs were out 20 years before most other artists even started writing about their own mental health in the mainstream making him so much more relatable than other artists at the time. He has such a beautiful soul.

Favorite SG song and in top ten of all songs! Such an amazing message! Their videos are always pushing the artistic visuals, and that isn’t for everyone, but it works in this video, as the the different “animals” find their own; othets who communicate and act like they do, so a sense of belonging is born- very important to feel inclusive. The full video ends with a Suicide Prevention message and number. Gives an added depth to “when you need to crash and burn you’re not alone!” !

This song isn't a believe-in-yourself song. This song is someone reaching out their hand saying, "If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me." I've been on the ledge before, and I asked for help because I couldn't find the courage to step off. So I do my best to be the kind of friend I wish I had then. And I wish I had a friend like that now.

What you said about narricism rings true. I’ve been married to this and everything you’ve said I believe I knew. My soon to be x husband has no real friends as I do. It’s hard to live with someone that tells you what they think you want to hear but because it’s ingenuiate you recognize this and unfortunately our eldest child has in her own words called him a manipulator - I still tried to protect him and my daughter particularly by saying your father loves you without trying to disrespect her opinion - it is a very difficult situation to be in. The realization at the end of the day that I know he is a narcissist which realistically means he has no care (including his children) for anyone but himself. It is very hard to realistically communicate on mature emotional level with someone who behaves like this. It’s sad - 24 years to keep the family unit together to protect them and have a happy upbringing - i in turn have lost a great deal and 24 years of my life. I really believe I’m the idiot in the room.

After listening to the chorus of this song, it sounds like they're saying they are trying to be there or save someone. They're wanting to be that someone's guardian angel. I don't know about anyone else, but I do believe in angels. I had a guardian angel with me on my worst and darkest night I ever went through a couple years ago. But my guardian angel was my dad. I believe he was there with me in spirit that night. I believe he saved me. What I'm trying to say is if I can be saved, you can be saved too. We all can be saved, but it only depends if you can believe. That's all there is to it.

Re the "this was written by a ghost writer" and "someone's gonna say Darren didn't even write this" - i don't think that really matters really. If you can genuinely connect with a lyric, you can sing it with emotion that will resonate (one of my favorite examples is Chris Cornell's cover of "Billie Jean"), and some people CAN write their own lyrics and still sing them flatly and without any real genuine feeling. ....but yeah, Darren and Daniel are credited as the writers on the song. Daniel Jones? Talent? So that Darren can interact with it? Hmmm? Not really.... this is how.. Darren wrote the words/ the poetry and the refrain/ chorus .. and the main Savage Garden tunes… Daniel and band filled in with chords around the framework of Darren’s..work..vocal tune notes.. That’s why when he sings.. it is from his heart…🎶🎵🌹

Do you for a fact that Daniel isn't one of the main instrumental songwriters? Please send me a article that states this, thank you.
@SuperTruetunes2 жыл бұрын
@@antonczachorAs Darren said says it , Daniel may have had a few chords he played to Darren at first in a whatta about this..but Darren hearing these two to four chords afterwards, went and did the song’s whole melody, and the words, fleshed it out into a whole song, with the framework, brought it back to the band, and the band then filled in. ..it was Darren who stayed in the studio and put the pieces of the song together with the producer. Daniel went home with the rest of the band after his section of instrumental was finished. Ask Darren. This is info he imparted via His social media in the last year… to questions asked about Savage Garden

@@antonczachorI wouldn't take out Daniel's credit that made Savage Garden music's amazing as a whole. The brilliant guitar riffs and synthesizer sounds that surprisingly come, go, and left you in awe, perfectly blended, that made their music sounds rich, they were Daniel's touch. When SG broke up, their masterful instruments have gone with him. I believe you got it when comparing SG works with Darren's. Darren has ability to create something melodious and touchy (undoubtedly a very sensitive guy) , yet Daniel alternate to make it sounds "cool". Together they make things perfect although having different touches. How's different? For instance, Darren's most favorite is Don't Know You Anymore while Daniel's is To the Moon and Back.
