This song crosses over so many lines that we've been accustomed to being portrayed by in media and by politicians. This song isn't for a certain party affiliation, ethnicity, race, nationality...it just hits home for so many people. Its not biased, it's just raw, because at the end of the day, we're all just trying to make it to tomorrow or escape the reality of today.

I busted my as for my country in the army then thirty odd yrs working, wife took my house and kids, my car even my dog, COVID took my business and a couple of family members to “heart issues “ after jab. I’ve been locked in a house I couldn’t afford because unjabbed couldn’t pay for… got evicted. Now in a one bed room in a shared house and I still can’t afford it . What’s the point …. I’ve only got anger left ….. they took everything….

I'm Swedish and this hits home for me too. I'm +50 and I'm glad to see that these younger men in their 30's also see what's going on. I'm also sorry that you didn't experience the Reagan era. He ended the cold war, liberated half of Europe from communist oppression. It was an era of good economy and freedom. People were looking to make peace with everyone and everything and party like all wars were over. But then came the 90's and things started to get weird and dark again and it has been going down that path ever since.

This man is an angel sent from God. I'm doing my best to let people know that he helped me personally by getting me on the path to sobriety. This happened when I first heard the song, I immediately went to his channel to listen to more of his music. One of his amazing songs is "I got to get sober" and I decided right then it was time. I had been drinking heavily and was contemplating suicide. Especially after buying my groceries groceries and gas realizing it was costing damn near the same as my rent. I realized that smoking and drinking my life away was causing a huge dent on my money and mental state. Although I relapsed already in the past 7 days I believe in my heart that I can do this with a passion I've never experienced before. I am currently going to AA throughout the week and Church on Sundays. I never was religious but, I am starting to like it! I feel accepted for who I am for once in my life. If anyone reading this is going through the same as me, and needs to talk, I am always here. God bless all of you!

God bless you. I had a mental breakdown last summer, almost drank myself to death. I honestly think I was trying to do that. I felt like the living dead. I worked hard and have gotten everything back... including my wife and kids! I hated and even denied God but it wasn't until I was completely broken and asked for His help that I finally got clean. I'm not gonna push God on you but pray you have success BEFORE you hit the bottom that I had to before getting clean. It's the most powerful song I've heard in so long i can't remember. It's authentic, raw and heartfelt. I've never seen a song resonate with so many different people at a soul level. It's American folk music, I'm sure you recognize it but others may not and confuse it with country music. It's authentic, raw and heartfelt. The acknowledgment of the high suicide rate of young men in our country. Killed me. Its hitting everyone but it's hitting men the hardest. They're trying to destroy the man with their claims of toxic masculinity and bs. It's not ok. I think men are under more pressure and can relate to this in a way that hits them harder. I cried when i heard it thinking how did we let this happen? We've screwed our children and future generations. We gotta fix it. It's proven that we have everything in common that matters. We're not divided like they want us to be. Not too long ago he was struggling with alcohol and depression even considering suicide. He fell to his knees and cried and prayed to God to take that away and for him to go forward with his music. God answered his prayers. A local radio station that scouts talent throughout Appalachia approached him and asked if they could record him a few weeks weeks later after seeing him play at a little event. They posted it just days ago and the rest is history. It's the only song that's been professionally recorded. That's why this is on radiowv rather than his channel. There's others that are so good too, in the top 10, but they were recorded on his iPhone. He's so surprised at the reaction and outpouring of love. He played a farmers market Sunday and there was standing room only. 25 acres of parked cars. He said in June he played for 20 people. Lol. Before his performance he didn't plug him, his songs or his social media. He read a verse from psalms about how the wicked will not prevail. Everyone was singing along and knew all the words despite it being released only a few days prior. It still hasn't been a week. He stayed 4 hours after talking to every person who wanted to talk with him and he listened to their stories. An inspirational young man with an inspirational story and an angelic voice that everybody feels. He quit his job as a factory worker to pursue his music. He bought land and lives on that with his dogs off grid. This song is recorded on his land. It's in Farmerville. He has a little introduction video on his channel he posted right before radiowv posted this video where he told a little about himself. He has his other videos on his channel too as well as his performance at the farmers market.

What I think is fascinating is that this song has gotten people to weep all over the world. This resonates with everyone. Black/white, red/blue, gay/straight, man/woman - don't matter. We all know EXACTLY where the emotion is coming from. He just said it better than most, and in song. We're weeping because that how we feel, and have for a long time. He's just bringing up something we've tried to bury and making us face ourselves - like all truly great art does.

Yes, I felt the emotion and truth in his message. It is going to help cross all boundaries between Black, White, Red Americans. It is directed towards the working class man in this Nation. He is hitting a deep pain we all feel everyday. He is talking about how the rich man is taxing the working man to death and the abuse of our taxes. I think it hits all of us deeply who have been in his shoes. Oliver hit the nail on the head with this song. I believe the working man is going to rise up against the rich man and the Government. I so appreciate your perspective on one of my the most powerful lines of this song and the universiallity of what it really means. "Young men are putting themselves 6 feet in the ground" Thank you

I keep seeing men break down on the reactions and it hurts my heart. I keep crying over here too. His voice is spilling over all his emotions. But I see all you men carrying the load on your shoulders just trying to provide and really feeling this song. ❤

It made/makes me emotional as well. I think it’s because of the revelation that so many of us feel the sentiment behind the song. It’s also impactful for me seeing how this song crosses so many of the divisions “they” manufacture between us. Right vs left Black vs white Christian vs other I’ve yet to see anyone from anywhere that doesn’t agree with his sentiment. That gives me hope.

You have to read his bio. Oliver lives in Farmville, Va. Rich Men North of Richmond could be DC or NYC. The cry reminds me of Tenn Ernie Ford's--- "16 Tons".

I’m in Chesterfield Virginia, was born in Portsmouth. It’s definitely tough out there. We’re like the 11th most expensive state too, which is bad out of 50. Honestly I’ve considered bailing, but my kids get free college in VA due to what happened to me in combat, so I’m motivated to at least TRY to stay here. If crime increases badly though, I’m out.

My darling, I too am from Va. He resides in FarmVille, Va. He does concerts at a farmers market, I believe called Morrison right over the NC border on the weekends. He is also doing shows at small venues around FarmVille. If you get the chance, go check him out in person. He talks to A LOT of people that come out to his shows.
