Caught on tape was the shocking moment a house, still intact, fell into the Yellowstone River. Yellowstone National Park is dealing with horrific flooding due to a torrent of rain, rock slides and melting snow. Electricity has been cut, there are mudslides everywhere, bridges have been washed out and roads are destroyed. Parts of the region have been evacuated, and officials have announced that the park is closed indefinitely. Inside Edition Digital has more.

@@redsiberian I was going to argue that the “on the river view” part isn’t necessarily bad. My whole city, Grand Rapids, is built along a river (smart thinking with our name, right?). But then I saw that there were houses behind them, and that they definitely could have built the house a bit further back. Maybe they ran a business that involved the river though, so I won’t judge🤷‍♂️ it’s unfortunate either way

Hypothetically? It could happen. Realistically? As a person with absolutely no expertise in any related field, I seriously doubt it. We don't see if or where the house made landfall, but ultimately the house was most certainly submerged in torrential waters. If, before that happened, the house became lodged close enough to stable land for someone to jump from a second story window that was still above water before that happened, and the second floor was intact with little enough water flow to allow someone to make it to that window, it might have been possible. "The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.....but that's the way to bet." -Robert A. Heinlein ,
