These were viral food trends. In 2018, a noodle called Buldak ramen took over the internet. Needless to say, the trend was hot. In 2021, there was chaos at 34 McDonald’s stores over meals inspired by the Korean boy band BTS. In June, there was a lot of talk about "shrinkflation" hitting fast food chains, which led to some Chipotle customers filming employees making their food.
