Being colorblind sucks. That’s the biggest problem I have is because I’m colorblind I never know what color items are and because of that sometimes people get mad at me because I said that it was the wrong color.

As a long term reseller, I agree that you need to buy what speaks to you and excites you. If I love something, it seems my description and vibe I put out about that item shows and increases sales. It’s very hard for me to sell something I’m not excited about. I think all resellers have their “tribe” and yours will find you of you are persistent. I’ve tried many times to veer into what’s trending and every time I go back to what I love and have better sales. Good luck and just keep doing YOU!

Not sure what the green stone is, but they are most likely Native American & may have been converted from clips to pierced. A loop will help you identify makers mark, often hidden. Love them! Your doing well, learning all the time. None of us should ever stop!

In response to the ‘ugly’ jewelry. Personally I have found that ugly sells. I always say ‘the gaudier the better’ Hats don’t sell for me. Shoes are doing well for me, especially the ones I buy for $1.00 and sell for $40.00 or more. You’re doing an awesome job!!

Hey Sonny, really admire your excitement in tackling the overwhelming task of reselling jewelry. I am not a reseller, just a lover of collecting jewelry. Many resellers appear to look for gold and silver, but I didn’t always have the funds for those. I looked for certain designer names and am drawn to the vintage pieces. My preference is rhinestone pieces with lots of clarity and unique styles. I picked up most of my pieces at antique and flea markets. As far as the earrings and hair clip are concerned, it seemed to me that they overcharged you. I personally would not choose pieces with missing stones, unless I had replacements. God bless you in your new endeavors.

Get a jewelry polishing cloth and clean your pieces up before auction. Hairpieces are desired! The shiny, glitzy rhinestone one brooches are hot and it’s pinky funky styles right now.

My sister wore only vintage pins on her lab coat. She called them conversation pieces, as people came up to find out what they could about her pins. Her co workers bought her pieces, and when she passed away, she had hundreds of unusual “conversation” pieces. She also had over 2000 salt and pepper shakers…but most of all, she had 100’s of wonderful friends who showered her with love. It was like a contest to see who could find the most unique piece. Sterling earrings look like the cabachon is green abalone shell. I found a few made by the Navajo with similar metal stamping. I saw what looked like a 3 letter mark on the backing. You need a loop to check it. Sterling is a good buy and sells well at the auction house I work for part time. Google lens it because it looks like it was artisan made and not machine made. The others I could not get a hit on without looking through a bunch of books. I don't want to spend a lot of time on one piece of jewelry so most of the time I want a signed piece.
