It's based on a story rich campaign boardgame with character development and rpg elements, not full TTRPG. They are making a TTRPG of the Board game tho too. The boardgame is great, and this game has also been great what I've played it. Love that you are spreading awareness of it! You kick ass Simo!

@@NotSimo For real! I've played the 4 campaigns that 3 of them are set on this very land the computer game you walk on. I've been so stocked re-living some of the places and knowing more of the lore behind the game. There is also newer Tainted Grail: Kings of Ruin boardgame, that is EVEN BETTER than the first one, taht also is set on these lands, but bit elsewhere. The qwuality of these all are NUTS.

@@NotSimo Heck yes! It does take good bit of time as it is campaign. Depending how much you want to explore every region, or just storm through it can vary a lot in play time. I found it best with 2 players. Some of the combat is really brutal if you have more players in one combat (but you can move separately, so it's not really a problem). I am keen on trying it with 3 or 4 players but trying to not stay in one group, to explore more and have the combats scale mostly for 2 participants that way.

There is just something about being an archer/dagger wielding assassin in an open world game. Being able to take out enemies from range or to disappear without a trace after a murder just beats everything. Even with my full love of heavy armor and maces and fighters in other games in open world ones I go for daggers and archery.

@@NotSimo There are some bugs in it - you need the Buffout 4 mod to stop it crashing when it tries to load the overworld for example - and some side quest chains are broken, but I'm having the most fun I've had in Fallout since New Vegas. There is a LOT of content, this isn't a DLC sized mod, it's a game with DLC sized mod. It's nice to hear swearing again, too.

How much of a Role Playing Game is this? Skyrim called itself an RPG, but every character you made in Skyrim felt basically the exact same. Do the quests in Tainted Grail offer multiple choices and avenues for role playing? It does look interesting and I hope it leaves early access relatively soon.

If you think this is like Skyrim, then you have no idea what separates Skyrim from other RPGs. It's not just (1st person medieval RPG with an open world). It's so much more. It's for the large combat-free content that also permeates in the world. The interesting walking about things that exist and the nonsense things that DONT need to exist in a game, like I will never go into every NPCs house and ever care about anything in there... but knowing I can is satisfying. That's what kind of game is Skyrim.

Everything here looks intriguing but the actual combat needs some tewaking i think. Most of the common enemies just seem like a non-threat. Theyre very slow and attacks are incredibly telegraphed.
