Timeline of this game is AFTER the classic novel - Original story, Journey to the west is classic Chinese novel (top 4) since ancient China written in the late 15 century. It follows a monk name Tang SanZang who goes on a Journey to the West (India) for the Sacred Buddha's Scriptures. Sun Wukung, who was born from a rock (space rock?) since the beginning of time by adsorbing the Heaven and Earth's Chi and Spirit. He founded a monkey kingdom and realised that he and his people could die of old age. He went on a journey to learn mystical arts (magic) and to become a deity and gain immortality. Long story short, he got into conflict with the heaven and made a mess due to his arrogance and untamed behaviour, no one could stop him until Buddha appeared and sealed him up for his crime for 500 years using a mountain + Seal. (5 Finger Mountain) The story begins when the monk's destiny is to find Wukung and set him free, however he must become the monk's disciple and follow him on a journey to the west by foot. During the journey, they have to overcome 81 difficulties of life and death, fighting evil demons and testing their faith and comradery.

Great video Amanda. I started playing this game just this Sunday and enjoying it so much so I can't wait to see your playthrough as well and get your thoughts. Also am a big dragon ball fan so the fact that this game and dragon ball where inspired from the same story makes it all that much better for me. Also you don't have to hold R1 to run you can also toggle it by clicking down on the left stick if you find that better. Can't wait for the next video

Be sure to use your sparks to upgrade. The best thing about this game is that any upgrade you make doesn't have to be permanent. At the shrine checkpoints you can re-shuffle any sparks you've used into other things like fighting stances, magic and physical build.

It does look amazing 🔥 When you get to the middle part of the game the bosses get really tanky. So I suggest to increase your staff's damage if you can so you don't lose your sanity

@@AmandaRoses To be honest, this ability is not random at all. It is a very obscure metaphor designed by the author in ancient China. This is related to the concept of the five elements in Chinese mythology (gold, wood, water, fire, and earth). The ear represents water, and the JinguBang represents gold. Putting it in the ear is a perfect explanation. Of course, it is very obscure.

Since you had mentioned it at the beginning, the game has a “parry” mechanic so to speak. It’s a skill you can unlock in the smash stance called “resolute counterflow” basically if you press heavy attack during a light combo when an enemy starts to attack, Wu Kong will perform this move on an enemy and essentially cancel out any incoming damage from the enemy attacking and as a result you’ll get quite a bit of damage. Also you’ll need at least one focus point so it can be done

Actually the parry is actually called rock solid spell. That’s how you can truly parry or do counter attacks.

Wukong laugh about other being that try everything to obtain immortality ( some lose their life in this path ) but this Wukong whom stack 75 immortality power after the journey end just laugh it off like it nothing. And before the black myth, he did raid the heaven, hell, ocean home of the dragon and bested all demon that ever come to challenge him. If you need to compare him to anything, he is walking talking WMD. The biggest problem you have when dealing with Wukong ... is that he is immortal. You can dice him, slash his neck, burn him, bite him, thunder strike him etc .... he just don't die. He heaven tried this before.

Those aren't Peacock feathers, they're actually PHOENIX feathers. One of Sun Wukong's signature pieces of his armor is his Phoenix Feather Crown. Glad you're enjoying this game! For a bit of context, this game takes place post-Journey To The West.

Chinese voice is much better and actually makes more sense as the language can never been fully translated properly, just the overall meaning usually gets across but not the essence of the meaning and multi meaning behind them. Also PC is much much better if you got the specs for it :D I would encourage you to read the novel, its very very good.

English translation on "stupid dog" isn't appropriate. Lore wise, first, the dog is celestial body too, if, in case he reincarnated into human world, he has the status to be a full human. Second, Erlang will never call his dog stupid, just not consistent to the lore. Third, the Chinese text, is anything but stupid either.

I'm trying to play this, but the visuals are just bad on pc. I'm on my 4th day of playing with the settings and I think it may be playable. I had to change the aspect ratio down to 21:6 and drop from 1440 p to 1080 p but there is still some odd shimmering and a grainy quality but I think I can manage. I know it's not my computer, I researched for a year before I built it. Some people are saying it's Denovo, an anti theft program, but idk. Here's my build: AMD RX 7900 XTX graphics card, Intel I9 13700 k CPU, 128 RAM & 2 TB Crucial M.2 SSD. It can handle anything so I don't know what the issue is. All my drivers are up to date. Really disappointed. I'll just play it now that I can see what's going on.

Make no sense geeting paid, the maker of this game is just from a small game studio in china, they dont have enpoght budget, you knoew, heard the developer originally planned 15 chapters, but because lacking of budget so they just are forced to cut down it too 6 chaps, there are so many monster/yaoguaistill havent shown up ,you will know if you have watched jpurney to the west, its really a good game, played elden ring/souls games, the main character and the enemies movement really like a robot, so boring emotionless, compare just be hinest to yourself, steam concurrent player cant be lie, Elden ring anly got 900k, in 1~2 years dont knoe, hile Black Myth got 2,4m concurrrent player in less than a week , and its still increasing to 37m by now , breking the reord of the most played game in steam history since the launching of the steam app...are you still accusing all the concurrent player on steam are all being paid? 😅

If you have a good enough PC I'd recommend buying it there, but if PS5 is your best option then it's definitely still worth buying and playing! Visual quality isn't as good on the PS5 but it's still a great game

Wukong is not really a hero...more like an anti hero. The tutorial boss is more of a hero. For context, Wukong is human monkey with crippling ADHD who is high on cocaine all the time and gains superpowers...and intentionally and unintentionally wrecks everything everywhere he goes.
