When a 66 yr. old Canadian who grew up listening to Jim Reeves loves Ren, then you know this man is special. This man is so unique and so talented. Love and respect, kids, hog fam Canada 🇨🇦 ❤

I'm also partial to a bit of Jim from time to time. I have fond memories of my dad playing Welcome to My World and I Love You Because on our old record player. What a gorgeous vocal he had! (JR, that is, although my Dad wasn't bad when he sang along 🤣). I'm also a big Billie Eilish fan, and I like a lot of like a lot of metal and punk/alternative bands. Ren has opened up my eyes to hip hop as an art form (not just a culture), and several great channels like this one are helping me understand it and enjoy it. Cheers.

You guys get so much. But listen closely to this comment about late night kabobs giving salmonella!! Right on. But the refers to Nigella Lawson stacking mozzarella. Ok so the cook stacking cheese. But also with Salmonella you need nigella- “Nigella sativa controls and protects against Salmonella” so maybe nigella La-son, mozzarella- type of string cheese in Uk known for medicinal properties. Ren doubles and triples.

This song and most of this album was written two years ago after he'd just had a medical setback and was angry at the world. I can't wait for the next album where he's in a better place. He's said it's going to be more singing and guitars. Can't wait. And also can't wait for Money Game 3! Come on October 13! Everybody who can afford $4.99 should pre-order his digital album, Sick Boi so we can try to get our boy to #1! He's currently #2 behind Rolling Stones. That may be a big hurdle to overcome!

There are so many Ren songs that I haven't seen you guys react to yet. Maybe I didn't find them cuz they are on a live stream or something. But his catalog goes back over 10 years. I think you guys would bring a different vibe and perspective to Ren's songs that not many of the other reactors have. If there are more then what I'm seeing listed out when I go thru the videos page can someone please point me in the right direction to find them? ❤ Money Game 3 is being released on Oct 12th, the day before the Album release date. Ren said Money Game 3 is about as long as Hi Ren and that it is his favorite song he's made so far and the one he is most proud of. If it's better then this song and The Tales Of Jenny, Screech and Violet and better then Money Game 1 and 2 and better then Hi Ren than I guess Money Game 3 is going to EPIC! He also says he has almost finished writing for the next album and that's going to lean more on his singing then on the rapping. I love the songs where he combines the singing and rapping. He said he also wrote another song similar to The Tales trilogy.
@Shiroar Жыл бұрын
Such a fricking masterpiece. The contrast between the raw rapping and beautiful singing is just perfect and the production is amazing. Ren is truly something special. Also I love all the little bits of reoccurring lyrics throughout these songs. It’s like everything is connected in a Reniverse tapestry and I can’t wait to hear how the entire album works together. Clever, creative, and so authentic 🐰🕳️
@samuelsomething6059 Жыл бұрын
Had to like and had to comment. Was great watching you both dissect the lyrics. I think there's an interplay between this song and "Masochist". They both must've been written around the same time? Lost All Faith: "Pain is my sheppard, my sword and my shield" - This is a masochist. Someone who is guided by and feels comfort in pain. Masochist: "Kill all these metaphors I write to all attachments in this life" - This is what someone would do if they lost all faith and gave up on "life". Also the lyric, "I find refuge in patience and pills" to me means that his only hope was that his treatments would eventually help. (Thankfully, they are making a difference!) Anyway, extremely deep and dark lyrically. Ren was definitely in a bad place a couple of years ago. Thanks for the reaction, watch you guys often.

Love your reactions, man. The bad kebabs line was a reference to UK culture. It's extremely common after going out to a pub, or club, to go get a kebab from somewhere afterwards. There're a lot of smaller takeaways, and even street vendors in some cities, that sell kebabs, chips, etc for those finishing a night out in the early hours 🙂

The "The Blood on The Leaves" line comes from a song by Billie Holiday, and the song’s name is Strange Fruit, about lynchings in the south during the1930’s. It was a very controversial song for the time, and she was not allowed to play it live. Great reaction as always. Cheers mate.

Love the reactions guys. Subbed. "I contemplate existence with consistence in my polo shirt " Einstein reference?..maybe?.. Theres a story .. possibly an urban myth.. that Einstein wore a clean set of identical clothes everyday. That way he didn't have to waste any brain power on choosing what clothes to put on each day, while he contemplated our existence. Ren is superb. In Life Is Funny, he raps about 'splitting atoms' and 'molecule divided' and 'Hadron Collider' (CERN in Switzerland). I love his little easter eggs and little motifs he slips in ❤. No idea if this is where Ren was thinking but, when you hunt bigger game, it often doesn't die right away. You go search where you shot it and look for blood on the leaves and then follow the trail. So, this could mean Ren feels like a wounded animal who leaves blood on the leaves when he fell.

The Kebab bar is probably a bit too specifically British for you to pick up on maybe. In the UK Kebab shops are everywhere and they're usually open quite late at night. They're sort of like fast-food but they're not part of any sort of chain. There are some really good quality Kebab shops around but there are also quite a few which are, how do I put it, quite dirty and not well looked after. It is pretty standard behaviour for a typical drunken night out to end with a Doner Kebab in the UK and the notion is that when you're drunk you don't really have the wits about you to evaluate the quality of the Kebab shop you've ended up in. It's very common to wake up in the morning with a bad stomach, usually a result of too much drinking, but blame it on the Kebab from the night before, lol

'Lifting my eyes to the hills' feels like an old religious reference of looking for your savior (who in Christianity did on that hill.) Instead Ren finds his trinity of pain. Freaking bar
@griffygut76839 ай бұрын
Feels like there is a strong trinity play. Ren segments the song in 3 sections of leads with drinking, sex, drugs. Feels like a nod to the British poet John Keat, who claimed his trinity to be 'Wine, women, and snuff until I cry out 'hold enough.'" I may be reading into it, but Ren is that kind of deep too
