The chorus was insane ! The way it kept building and building. I had no idea that Ren could sing like that - this guy is so full of surprises. Loved the Indian/Bhangra feel towards the end. From what i recall, he wrote this during a Hellish time. In his live stream the other day, he stated that he'll be undergoing more intensive treatments very soon. ( He's still in 🍁 for treatments). Continued prayers fror him as he faces some pretty bad side effects .🙏🙏💪 ****And, big shout out to you for supporting others❤❤ Appreciate your time & energy that you put into these reactions.✌️

I hear this as how some people may perceive him vs how it really is for him. Knowing he wrote it earlier puts it into context even more. 😞 I can relate to Ren's health issues. A neurosurgeon's PA told me last year that my symptoms were from 'stress' (I have PTSD), even though I have documented serious spinal issues. Now I'm losing function and balance, first slowly, now fast. It's like I'm becoming partially paralyzed in the past week or so. Using a cane every day at home. But that ptsd/anxiety label sticks, and it muddies the waters of diagnosis. 😞

To me, this song explains songs like Love Music Part 4 or Murderer coming from the same person that gave us Humble and Ocean - In this song both of those artists come out to play. This is what he meant when he told us he learned to relax at the end of Hi Ren - The "beast" that comes out in Murderer and Masochist, and this song, is one half of the duo from Hi Ren: the side that wants to watch the whole world burn. The other half of the Hi Ren duo is the one that wants to uplift everyone - the Ren that wants to do good in the world. Rather than fight the "dark side" Ren has learned to embrace that part of himself and allow it to express its feelings too - but in a way that is still a net positive. He's learned to live with his demon, and even use its power to entertain us. In the process he brings those two distinct personalities back together into one multifaceted, entertaining and thought provoking artist. There is a little madness inside every genius and Ren truly is a musical genius.

In his 1 million-subscriber thank you speech, (I may be paraphrasing slightly) Ren advised those “feeling hate against their fellow man”, to feel that hate/pain, express it, then let it go and find new peace. Seems like he is taking his own advice in Masochist and Lost All Faith. He wrote them during his darkest times, then took that pain, disillusion, desperation, depression and frustration and expressed it in songs about killing the whole world and losing his faith with everything. He created art. I’m in awe.🤯

I've heard many people say the chorus reminded them of a Bond movie theme. I can hear it a bit, but my first association was Radiohead, not the way he sings of course, but the harmonies and the way it builds up and then comes down at the end. Specifically the song I have in mind is Exit Music (for a film), which starting somewhere in the middle has a very similar in vibes beautiful melodic build up and then drop. Also similar depressive vibes, of course.

Chorus is a nip thickener for sure. 😏 So relatable as well for me anyway. He did recently mention not necessarily this song but yeah most the themes on this album are from the last few years being in a bad spot but that he's feeling much better these days and is already putting together the next album which will be more cheerful with a lot more guitar and live instrument vibes which should be awesome. Always love your reactions! Yeah he said this is another 2 year old song. Besides For Joe, he hasn't released anything he wrote in 2023...yet. He said on Twitch his next album is going to be completely the opposite of Sick Boi, almost no rapping, way more positive, and will have all live instruments. Also, there's a fact that pretty much every reactor gets wrong, he HAD Lyme Disease. He was cured of it through a stem cell transplant in 2016. However, he's dealing with brain damage because of going through Lyme so long without being diagnosed. The biggest side effect from it is he now has MCAS, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. He said on Twitch that basically it means he's allergic to literally everything. If he doesn't eat the same meal every day, he will either go into anaphylactic shock or he won't be able to get out of bed for a day or two.

There is no cure for Lyme’s unless it’s caught very, very early but often people don’t even know they’ve been bitten by a tick and show no symptoms. To be cured with antibiotics you need to be treated within 3 months of infection and even then for around 30% it doesn’t work. All you can do with established Lyme’s disease is control it. Stem cell treatment can help do this but there is no cure that will rid the body of the disease, like Malaria, you’ve got it for life.
