One thing that set this business apart is the fact that it was functionally operating (working properly in its smallness) before they went to seek investors. Some businesses who bid here come with struggling businesses or simply an idea on paper. One must learn to handle their own little monies before they can be entrusted with other people’s money. Job well done to Jubal’s Glazed smoked chicken 💪🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I most likely would have gone with Lion Dan's offer, if I were Tunde factoring a lesser % stake in my business. However I think Tunde made a good deal as stated in his acceptance speech, in the midst of three is counsel, especially for the expertise those Lions will be bringing on board and more money. In conclusion both deals are actually good. Great job! I love this show.

While I love this show, as a business person, I think the 3 of them eventually valued his business at 36million Naira, which is small in my opinion for a business that has generated up to 50million Naira in revenues and has its own brand identity and built its own market in-roads. The entrepreneur definitely doesn't fully understand valuations yet. 3 Giants holding 11% equity each in your business at this early stage is dicey. He has to reduce his ownership for them to get in and like Dan Ngerem pointed out, too many cooks spoil the broth, I wouldn't take in 3 big board members at once, it's too many ideas and too many opinions around a small table.
@adelekedigital2 жыл бұрын
Exactly my point. 12% is way too much for such valuation

i would love if he countered their offer, but he was too shy to even speak out. he could have gotten them to back down on a 15% stake offer or even 20% as max he can offer. he is completely out out business already with less than 10% stake at this point. not a smart move. You are right on him not understanding the worth of the company he started.

He sold himself short. If he's making 40M in revenue in one year that means he's invested 100M +. It made sense that he's requesting 7.5M for a 12% stake which is a super deal. The lion breeded on his super deal by requesting more. 12M for a 33% stake to me is insane but I wouldn't take it. For 2 reasons this guy obviously doesn't understand what he has on his deck and he doesn't know that if he's a bit patient he'll scale up faster. Concerning the carbon emission it's a valid note but regardless. I wouldn't take the offer if it were me. Gosh it's a 5 years business why can't he be patient?
