I just got the Dry Rider RX4 Textile Jacket this week have a fairly similar design little bit different I also tried a lot of different styles and brands and ended up getting this not cheap $550 it has a zipper for the pants as well as some armour extra upgrades. I moved away from leather and wanted just one set of gear and it seems to be working well.

Good to hear mate. Certainly easier having one set to do it all

Good one mate! I'm getting a new jacket this week and this one was a strong contender. I'll be riding in outback Qld over summer and need something to suit. Another I'm considering is the Leatt 7.5 Flowtour jacket which seems to have a better raincoat that can fit over the jacket as well as inside. $$$ more though. It would be good to hear your testimonies during a ride. You know, stuff you think of at the time and forget when doing an in-house review of outdoor gear. Also, it'd be good to hear of someone else's 'stories-o-the-stench' to verify your findings. :-) Ta heaps!

I'm honestly really happy with this one. Simple, durable and easy to use. I'm now into the Held Mojave which suits my hot conditions much better. Used it on a big trip and put their rain coat over the top and was near spot on (review to come soonish). Next I'm going to try the Held Lonborg. Waterproof with zippers and mesh panels still

Hey mate. Great review - thanks for sharing. Really like how you have reviewed with information a rider would want, instead of just the specs that can be read on a catalogue. Things like being able to (or not) adjust airvents on the fly, size of mobile phone pocket, odour, etc is all very valuable information! Just what we need with a review! I've got RST gear, and are checking out DriRider. I'm more of a sports tourer than adventure bike rider - but just looking for an all in one jacket. I'm a bit concerned about the lack of waterproof on the outer-shell though - sounds like that inner liner is definitely needed. I found my RST Titanium (older jacket, not sure they make it anymore) great for waterproof on it's own. I'm also wondering what you think it would be like in a semi-sports position (slightly forward) as opposed to being directly upright on an adventure bike? Re the smelling like a homeless person - I'm curious to know if you've tried wearing bamboo? I take it on my week touring. Bamboo underwear, socks and t-shirts. The stuff is magic. Like wool, it has properties that helps prevent bacteria growth that causes body odour. Kid you not - wear it for a week away - you'll smell food from the meals you've eaten on it before the BO. Can't say it will work (depending on what exactly is causing the odour), but would be keen to know if you've tried it, and if not - give it a shot. It may allow you to use the jacket more often if it works. Again - thanks for the great review. Safe riding!

Bamboo, I'll have to check it out. I was looking at merino wool products but I'm open to anything. I wear this jacket on street bikes too, no issues. The only thing is it looks like an adventure jacket and doesn't really suit the 'style'. I'm trying out Held gear now, they've got waterproof options that don't break the bank, sound and look really promising and got great warranty

@@onthebackwheel Thanks for the reply. Wool does the same, but wool is obviously warmer (and a bit scratchier). Bamboo is closer to silk, and has excellent wicking properties. I use wool during cold rides (but then again BO isn't as much of a problem 😉 ) and use the bamboo for the warm/hot days. Thanks for the advise re street bikes. Honestly - I'm more concerned about practicality than Style. I wasn't even aware of the brand Held. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the tip!

@amateurhour3966 not a problem. If you're in Aus the importer is a super nice guy, great to deal with. I'll check out bamboo, it's really warming up so that sounds like a great option

Believe it or not, none ATM. I'm looking at the matching pants or the Rally ones from Dririder

I’m super interested to hear how well the pants match the jacket and work out as a combo. Let us know if you went down that path.

Unrelated to this video sorry. But have you heard anything about the issues with the Gen 3 SRC crash bars? I went to order some today based on your videos and the US SRC moto web sight said their basically doing a recall and will have a redesigned version available mid December and replace the existing ones under warranty. Looks to be an issue with the KLR vibration causing the bars to fail. Hoping the Ozzy ones aren't affected??
@onthebackwheel2 жыл бұрын
I know a little bit but can't say yet. I will most likely be getting the new bars to review. I haven't had any major issues with mine, definitely some complaints which I will mention in my review
@jasonrichardwatts Жыл бұрын
There were only 2 failures and the bars that failed were fitted to bikes with lowered pegs (nutshell: more stress was placed on the bars due to the mounting pressure from moving the mounting points). That said, SRC redesigned and strengthened them so that there’ll be zero problems in the future. All prior models are sold out and the two customers with breakages have been looked after.
