On the reggae sound & influence you mentioned...if memory serves me correctly I think I read or heard Ren asked who are top 3 all time artist he'd love to do music with and one was Tasha Santana. I remember that because I've heard some of her music which is mostly Reggae style. I honestly think Ren is a generational talent. He can do, like you said, anything and everything. Show anyone a collection of 10 Ren songs, they could be forgiven for thinking they are all different people. And Eden, jees, her voice is just angelic. It's so smooth. There is a huge reggae/ska/dancehall influence in British music. The Windrush Generation brought Caribbean culture to our tiny island and the mashup defined more than music for the kids that came after them. I grew up in the 80's and my first experience of a gig as a teenager was a ska band (so many underground and mainstream acts to mention here). At the time Britain was in the mud, divided into those who have, and those who don't (sounds familiar). I'm just so glad I was a part of the youth movement that embraced the message of peace, love and unity which came through the music and those we danced with. It was life affirming back then and it defined how I look at the world now. I still miss that sense of community. I'm gonna have to get off my ass and find it again. Thank you for stoking the fire.

Love this! Everyone Ren collaborates with is crazy talented. I don’t think you’ve done any of Ren’s duets with Chinchilla yet - you want to talk about singing and amazing harmonies, check them out. Speaking of Chinchilla, she went indie recently and her Little Girl Gone is insane (released last just over a week ago with a lyric video and dropped a new video last night). Her harmonies and production skills will knock you out and this song, Little Girl Gone is a freaking ANTHEM! Love your reactions Anthony! ❤

I think the clue to the beat is probably the line 'a style that is ruuuuuuude' possible referencing the rude boys of the late 60s in Jamaica and the late 70s in the UK, who were into ska and the slightly slower rocksteady beats that were the precursor to the even slower reggae.

Maybe it's just me, but this track gives me super strong Fugees vibes. Ren loves his 90's references and everybody who was around in those years knows the splash the Fugees made back then. Yes, Ren plays the classics too, Bob Marley and so on, I'm sure his catalogue of references is broader than what I'm reducing it to, but to me this song sounds like it was written by someone who had the Fugees record playing on repeat, back in the day.
