the wii u has cemu emulator + homebrew. I have zero clue if said cemu and arctic base have wii u versions/compatibility. let alone compatibility with virtual console, but the wii u has ocarina of time n64 edition in the virtual console. i'd look into this for sure!

One thing I found is that on a New 3DS System, the Artic Base application switches to the „old“ clocks. This causes issues in larger games like MK7 or Pokémon. But, if you start the server for the game you want to play, then open the Rosalina menu (L + Dpad down + Select), go to New 3DS settings and change it to enable L2 cache and set it to the higher clock speeds, it doesn't stop the server and I get a higher network connection speed, and no audio stutters like I did before.

I noticed a big improvement in Pokémon Y, the load times are faster, and the music doesn't cut out at all.

wow this is awesome, I bought a new 3dsxl from eBay awhile back, I didn't even realize it was hacked at first, i was just buying it so i could play actual carts! i was glad it was actual hacked! i just had to load some of the software to finish the job.

yeah its crazy, I bought a 3ds for really cheap bidding on it on ebay not long ago and not listed as hacked and it wound up being all set up ready to go. Maybe people don't want to list them as hacked in the title or description, but usually they would show in screenshots they are hacked.. but the one I bought didn't show anything.

While this quite good indeed, the New 3DS has allowed for a while to stream from the console to a PC, the downside being that you get the same resolution of the console and it's not that reliable, but it indeed existed

Thanks for sharing this. It works way better than I expected it to, and because it is just streaming the rom rather than the gameplay there is no added input lag beyond any that the emulator has, just increased loading times/small loading hitches. I can definitely see myself using this a lot.

Ngl the main reason I ever want to use an emulator is for recording footage, getting capture cards for a 3DS are super pricey. That said, I still love how the 3DS feels to hold and control, plus it's a lot easier to use the actual console for touchscreen games than trying to use a mouse on an emulator. I really hope a future verison of Arctic Base allows for us to play these games on emulator while still using the 3DS as a controller and reading touch screen inputs from the 3DS, that would be ABSURDLY helpful for me as a content creator.

This will definitely increase how much I play my 3DS significantly, I never used Citra as syncing saves would be a big hassle. Being able to play on a big screen wirelessly with virtually no lag is a game changer, not mention that you can crank up the resolution in Citra so that the games look even better.

So my guess the way this works is it temporarily dumps the game and save file onto the emulator, and when you’re done, it pushes the game save back to the 3ds.

Just be advised. Make sure to use checkpoint to backup your saves. I tried to play A Link Between Worlds and it deleted my current saves. I had a backup so I was good but this is still being developed so be careful

I had the same for A Link Between Worlds, and saves for it don't persist after shutdown 🫤. Other games i've tried are fine though, Pokemon Sun, Super Mario 3D Land

like you say, this is amazing and groundbreaking for things like streaming. Like hardware modifications are expensive, and snickerstream has *several* problems (no native sound capture, only works on the "new" generation, etc). This is huge!

sadly, it does not work. despite having everything completely updated and working properly, citra gives me an error saying it cannot connect to the artic base server. i'm assuming this is a new issue, because there is nothing online that actually fixes it.

I would love to see something like this but that uses something similar to Dolphins net play so the game runs exactly the same on both the emulator and 3DS at the same time. I'm not sure how doable that really is but it were possible it'd be really awesome

not gonna lie. this is a huge godsend for many people. one disadvantage though is that when we are on the go, if we want to capture our 3ds footage for example, hotel, we wouldn't be able to because of the security stuff especially. only one way to mitigate that is to buy a pocket router. i'm on a mission to buy pocket routers that has wep since i want to play ds games. do i need it just for 3ds? nope. but since i want to connect my psp to the internet in case someone made a private server for the games, i got it covered also, maybe cemu team would learn a thing from this video? then again, i'm more worried on how to capture the gamepad in aroma

I just tried this out and I am pretty impressed. Never tried Citra before. 3D works very well on my passive 4K 3D TV. I tested it out with Starfox 64. Occasional little stutter. When I tried to resume Starfox 64 on the 3DS, it crashed. After a power cycle, to loaded up fine and the progress I had done on Citra was there. Hopefully the quirks get ironed out.

This is pretty neat! How does it handle spotpass features though? Like the Guild Cards in Etrian Odyssey games? Would the other spotpassed people’s data still show up in your game? Would your spotpass data be updated on switching back to the handheld? What a cool piece of tech! Incredible that this is coming out now - I can’t wait to see how it evolves in the future.

I thought this would be actually sharing the 3DS screens, but from what I understood all it does is share the ROM and save file while the game is actually being emulated by citra the same way it would if you just loaded a ROM, definitely convenient for anyone who wants to go back and forth and not have to deal with save backups, but anyone who's just interested in playing on PC should just dump the ROMs and play it straight from Citra

This is really neat. I have a loopy capture New 3DS XL and I still might use this just so I can easily up the graphical fidelity through emulation when I record. I know I could *already* do that, but a major concern for me in doing this is starting a series on emulator only for it to run fine at first but have major boo boo issues at some point. But with this, I could just go back to recording right off the 3DS itself if I did run into that scenario and then swap back once I get past the point that's emulated badly.

Used a bluetooth controller syncd to my pc, not sure if there is a way to use the 3DS as a controller while doing this as the buttons etc close out Artic Base or put the system to sleep.

I tried playing Ocarina of Time and Planet Robobot but I couldn't even have the game started. It didn't Register any Button Press and it ran at 3FPS or something

Make sure you configure the controls in Citra before playing, as far as performance this could be due to any number of things. I don't know you PC specs obviously, but Citra on PC requires a GPU that supports OpenGL 4.3 or higher, or Vulkan 1.1. Check to see if your GPU needs an update. With Artic Base things take a little longer to load then normal, so initial performance hiccups could be present but should smooth out after a moment as it is streaming the game info to Citra.

Broadcasting from your 3DS to Citra will be slower than loading the games directly in Citra as Artic Base on 3DS will be uploading game data from your 3DS to Citra.

I had to update Luma 3DS to get it to load Arctic Base. From there, enter the IP address it gives you into Citra.

This does look exciting and all but my major hang up is emulator optimization for the not so powerful PCs. This has always been my problem with Citra. The slowdown and lag were horrible and I could never rectify it.

You have FBI and Luma updated to the latest versions? Also double check the ip address thing shown on the Artic Base server on the 3DS and make sure you type it exactly the same in Citra.
