She received a prize of eighty thousand dollars, which she generously donated to various children’s charities. Just a reality check for you John 😉 It's impossible to put ANY label on what style she is, the changes in her vocal style, etc., etc. This young woman is a musical master vocal chameleon. Incredibly creative, a veritable explosion of it all in one person. She is now positioned to have every resource required to produce music that isn't heard on mainstream radio, she's in a league of her own who has raised the bar of excellence in producing top tier music that all ages can appreciate and embrace. Her energy, her VIBE, her look her SOUND is ORIGINAL and FRESH...Gurll can SANG and she is the one others will now clamber to be like...too bad, you can't re-create GENIUS, there's only one Angelina 🔥🔥🔥🔥PEACE!

Great reaction, Johnny! Angelina is an amazing vocal diamond that radiates beautiful sound waves around her and develops all the time. The mixture of styles, timbres, voices, genres and tones that this girl manages to use is incredible, it is not only her primary jazz training, which she has developed in an excellent way, but all the musical sources she has absorbed in these wonderful years of hers of experimentation and training, which she reworks and connects in her own unique way, like the true artist she is. I love every song on her EP, each one differently and can't stop listening to them. Angie has done a beautiful and intelligent musical work with this EP, it's amazing and the lyrics are excellent and are mainly the result of her ingenuity, even if in collaboration, they tell an evolutionary path, from a breakup, through the stages of demonization and suffering up to the full self-evaluation and self-affirmation of the last song Diamond. Is a wonderful EP, new, emotional, passionate and with very beautiful and deep lyrics, written by a seventeen year old girl who is absolutely unique. 💛🧡❤

all original i cant decide which is the best song. the whole ep is such a masterpiece and so well written by her i can only say she is outstanding and by far the best singer of this decade and diamond is an even bigger surprise I have never experienced in my whole life that an EP only contains number 1 songs, each of the 6 songs is a hit and worthy of a Grammy, I hope that Republic Records will finally start the promo engine and it will be played on radio and TV, only KZbin is not enough. The crazy thing is that she said that the EP with 6 songs is a small selection of over 100 songs that she has already written, which gives hope for the future that we will be surprised with even more beautiful songs

All the songs on OLD ENOUGH were written by Angelina. She's now with Republic Records and the moment she got out of school they were able together to get her EP finished and OUT. It was dropped 3 weeks ago. It is totally brilliant and unique. There are two videos and 4 "visualizers", one of which. DIAMOND, you just now played. The other visualizers are called GOOD IN GOODBYES, ALL MY FAULT and FIRE and RAIN. All are unique and quite magnificent. The two videos are LOVE, DON'T LET ME GO (which dropped about 3 or 4 months ago and NOW I'M THE FOOL, which droped with the visualizers and LOVE, DON'T LET ME GO all together making up her EP called OLD ENOUGH. Enjoy it .. every little part is phenomenal.

Angelina co-wrote all of the songs on her EP and an upcoming full album. Previous to the EP Angelina recorded 5 of her own songs: Oslo, What is Life, Shield, Million Miles, and 7th Heaven - before that she also rewrote the lyrics to two Amy Winehouse songs at age 10: Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate.

Angelina wrote these lyrics to these songs not co wrote them, She more than likely had input to the musical arrangements but even then she is the boss with the final say , the lyrics are from her own heart and soul , no credit to any so called un named lyrical co writer. She has been writing lyrics on her own from a small child , why would anyone want to give credit to any unnamed lyrical co writer. at this point in her life? These Ep songs are only the start of the over 100 songs she says she has written ; Robert are we to believe she has had a lyrical co writer living with her over the writing of her songs from her first original " what is life ' when she was around 10 years old to now ?

@@ckh57 Yes, Angelina wrote the core lyrics and melodies and has stated that - but she also collaborated with others on the recording mix which would include tweakers to phrasing and perhaps changing a few words for better flow, backing vocals, and instrumentation. The EP production credits list several co-writers including Rachael Platten and Tara Stinson. In addition, it is rumored that Dianne Warren one of the greatest living pop songwriters has had some input on Angelina's forthcoming full album.

Robert is correct on this. And those are just part of the team that Republic Records has surrounding and supporting Angelina. And don't forget Rob Christie has been there since Angelina 1st signed with Republic. I'm also confident she has access to many of the best musicians as well for crafting her song. I'm sure there are many who would be thrilled for an opportunity to work with Angelina. Yes,, her notebooks I'm sure are where the songs originated from. The first master of improvisation was Angie's musical mentor, who she says, 'If not for Billie, there would be no Angelina Jordan today'. Then came the 2nd truly improvisational singer and that was Amy Winehouse. Whereas Billie & Amy were masters of the Jazz genre, Angelina has expanded that to include a multitude of genres while still keeping her foundation of Jazz alive.

She wrote the songs and also the music. Of course, there are the fabulous Republic Records folks who might have helped here and there .. we really don't know. Some of them feel like they are solidly all her .. but it's hard to know. She has told us she has 100 songs written in the past few years .. she is an amazing poet and writer .. and her music .. reminding us how unique and varied she is...and magnificent. I enjoyed your comments and also watching your reaction .. she is a wonder. Nobody like her. ALL the songs on the EP are most definitely worthy.

Understand close to 20 Republic producers and writers were on this album project. I'm quite certain Ms.Jordan would plug her talent and ideas into this gifted group and thrive. This supportive cast would have likely taken her submitted songs and come up with a handful of full alternate versions for her to consider. This is the process that superstar level talent uses and that is rarely gifted to a newcomer. Good for her for maximizing this gift to her gift.

AJ has full cred for the lyrics as well as partial production creds. Remember that AJ's grandmother, Mery, is a poet as well as a renowned painter. AJ also paints and I would not doubt that she dabbles in poetry as well. I'm sure she might run lyrics by Mery from time to time.

Angeluna says she has 100 songs in her note books. Republic have given her a stellar team to teach her how to take those songs and polish them into hits. A different skill. The investment is there to turn her into a legendary hit maker. There is no such thing as a single genre or sound for Angelina. She can flex her vocals any which way she chooses.

Her EP is all Angelina originals. The songs on the EP, tell a story when listened in sequence. The LP to be released later in the year apparently continues this. She is the Barefoot Princess of a Thousand Voices! Her style is hard to pin down because she is so flexible. Therre is no need to categorize her. She is simply the best. As she releases more of her originals, (after this LP) I believe she will have many different sounds. The lyrics of this EP are amazing.

@@ckh57 She was NOT contracted to Republic Records at that age- your timing is way out of whack. When she works under the record label, she has far more resources at her disposal- arrangers, musicians, lyricists, producers, mixers and videographers. The record label has a certain say in what the artist must do for their own quality standards, since she represents them and vice versa. RR/UMG signed her because they saw great promise when she was demonstrating her vocal and writing skills at an early age. Don't be so naive to think she is doing all this on her own-that sets her up to be something she likely is not- and you don't have inside knowledge that she indeed is doing this all on her own. Writers cede writing credits to the artist, disproportionately-that is part of the sacrifice they sign up for. Deifying her does her more harm than good.

But, my reply wasn't directed to you-I was speaking to another poster who implied she was the start and finish of everything going on about her music. I have followed MANY young artists through their music career and they ALL have a certain segment of their fan base who extrapolate wildly WRT the level of genius of their particular artist of interest-based on small windows of on-line activity they peek into. A throw away line in a rehearsal session of her being the "boss" is extrapolated into that being her nickname among all supporting musicians and professional producers for the rest of her life. She is unquestionably very talented, but we do not need to overstate anything that we do not know 100% and deify her- it makes us look cultish.
