To all people here learn about bts for the first time: armys are elementary to graduate students, professionals, moms, dads, grandparents, people of all genders. We are from all over the world, not just western countries, we get inspired from their hardwork and their lyrics. We don't just like them for looks and memes. Please keep this in mind! We are a movement!

I'm so glad that you not only pointed out how the fandom is VERY diverse, but also the fact that there's absolutely nothing wrong for a young person to show love for something they enjoy. It's so common for people to use the "crazy teenage fangirl" trope to denounce artists, especially boy bands. It's infuriating because not only is it disrespectful to these artists and their work, but it's also MISOGYNISTIC because it's assuming that the interests that women and young girls have are superficial and invalid. Even if the fandom IS majority young girls, so what? They and their interests are as valid and real as everyone else's.
@wildfictions7054 жыл бұрын
Yeah, at some point of their own lives, they were themselves teenagers and now they bash the younger generation at that age. I mean "you lived your generation in your way, now let us live our generation in our own way".
@hhf81244 жыл бұрын
@@wildfictions705 it's mostly men tho and them didn't had to go through this misogyny when they were younger, since young boys are 'dedicated' but young girls are 'obsessed'.
@nmackem4 жыл бұрын
lyn holin Although you’re right that it is common for teens to like boy groups, it’s also common for the general public to turn this into an insult towards BTS and the young fans by stereotyping fans as “crazy, screaming teenage girls” and stereotyping BTS as a “childish boy group that only attracts young girls”. It’s also because of this stereotype that older fans such as yourself may feel embarassed when liking a boy group. At the end of the day, fans (regardless of age) of big boy groups such as BTS will get put down no matter what. Hearing these comments is disheartening for all of us because we and our passions are not taken seriously (I am from the US as well and this is what I personally observe). HOWEVER, I totally hear you and your feelings! I had not considered how older fans may feel as fans. I’m 23 years old and even my parents say that I’m getting too old to be liking BTS 😅 But when I was 16, I was still made fun of for being a “typical crazy teenage fangirl” for older groups such as Shinee. So at the end of the day, there will be haters regardless, and there is never a right age to like our favorite artists. Like you said, we should just ignore these comments and continue to support BTS, as well as be welcoming to all fans of different ages, genders, sexualities, races, etc. P.S. Sorry for the long reply, but just wanted to say please never feel embarrassed for being an older fan! You have the right to support and enjoy ANYTHING that makes you happy. I personally LOVE seeing and talking with older fans at concerts, and it’s amazing to see that BTS’s music can reach all people of different generations. Stay healthy and safe :)

People actually wonder why I get so fucking angry every time they disrespect or hate on BTS. Look, wouldn't you be angry if someone was saying malicious things about/to the person who contributed the most in saving your life? Seriously. That's how I feel abt BTS. I'm doing so much better bc of BTS, I have the most amazing group of friends and I'm starting to get back on track with school work too, as well as spending more time with my family than in my room with my phone and only talking early in the morning and at dinner. Bc of them, I'm really proud of myself and I have improved in so many aspects as a person as well, not just for my own mental well-being. They've also helped me have a deeper understanding in life and explains feelings I'd never find the words for in their songs. That makes me more emotionally intelligent and understanding over for other people too. So far, I've helped 2 people out of depression and currently talking to 2 other friends who only trust me and feel actual comfort when talking to me. It makes me happy now that I understand the process of life, the power of communication and patience and understanding, which allows me to support other people too who may feel completely alone. That's what I'm grateful for. They saved my life and allowed me to help me contribute to saving others. I still have some way to go to call myself truly happy, but I'm getting there. Hell to the yes I'm proud of myself, hell to the yes I'm so frickin' precious, I am so worthy and so beautiful from the inside and out. I'm getting there. I'm actually getting there. That's why I love BTS. That's why I get "pressed" over you saying they're complete meaningless trash I'll forget in a year. BTS are NOT overrated and undeserving, cut the BS straight away. And if you're a person looking for learning abt BTS or just randomly decided to click on this video, here I am, a prime example of what kind of influence these guys have. Trust me, becoming an army is gonna be one of the best decisions ever.

This is very beautiful, some people like to depend on this group for emotional support, but you use what you know correctly, and you understand that their message is an important one and is meant to be shared. They are not aiming for some kind of worship (believe it or not people think that) they just want people to acknowledge, and feel better 💓 I too am very happy of being a proud army, I have a feeling that was destiny lol, or maybe god sent these guys. Honestly they are superheroes, for millions of people... and I feel upset when people belittle their effort aswell, but feeling this alone means they have thought us well 🌝🌝🌝 No one should have to belittle anyone, especially the ones who bring effort into getting a better world. I love BTS and you too 💜💜

My story of finding BTS is literally different from everyone.. it all started with a ad on one of my KZbin videos which i played. I remember it was jungkooks fancam from headliner but it was near stage so i could actually see that there are lot of them. I didn't know anything about kpop or korean music and anything or about bts. The KZbin was recommending me videos of them that i can remember but i never watched them bcoz i didn't even know who they are so thought its just some random video on my feed.. never clicked. So back to my story You know you have to wait 5 sec to skip the ad right.. i just didn't. I dont know what happened but when i saw them dancing and singing together live i was so amazed bcoz it's hard you know singing while dancing and was mesmerized. I was like who are these boys. You can say that i fell in love at first sight. And for the first time in my life i clicked on an ad video to know who are they. Then it took me to headliner channel and i saw that they are bts. The first thing that came to my mind was "so that's BTS" and remember i knew nothing about kpop or bts or how big they are but fell in love with them. Then i started watching the video from the same channel and saw the mic drop body roll and i was done. I instantly felt the love for them bcoz of how talented they are even before knowing that they are huge or anything. After that i searched them to know about them and i remember i was literally crying bcoz i couldn't tell who is who on my first and second day. I just wanted to learn their names.. and you know the rest is history.. xD One year in this fandom never regretted for a single second. When i started knowing how big they are and how positive message they send through their songs i just fell for them more. I love my boys with all i have. ❤ You know they say that you find bts when u need them that's true. I was going at the time with nothingness. U know where u wake up every day with no reason in life. U don't feel anything happy or sad. U just shut urself feeling numb bcoz u dont have anyone or anything kinda time. I found them at that time and they became my reason to be happy. I felt excited after a long time. They made me realise that I do matter and i am special with all my flaws. you don't have to be perfect you just have to be you. :) Sorry for this long essay which no one will ever read but i feel good. 😊❤💜

I just want you to know that Headliner is one of the most well known Sasaengs. She did a lot of bad things just to make money of her fancams, she invaded the boys privacy oftentimes and months ago chats got leaked where she openly said very bad degrading things about Jungkook (the Idol she supposedly loves and does fancams of) Its sad that till to this day she has tons of followers:/ Most are probably unaware, but a lot of "Armys" put quality fancams over the boys wellbeing...They are not Army in my eyes

I am 62 years old and am a grandmother & a GREAT GRANDmother (all blood no 1/2 or step). I LOVE BTS almost as much as I love these precious babies of mine (ages range from 22 to 1 yr). I wanna give ALL OF THEM A BIG OLE HUG & SQUEEZE, SOUTHERN STYLE! Which means firm and hang on till they let go! I figure JIMIN, my bias, would hang on for a while and SUGA might want to but I wouldn’t let that sweet young man go. He’s been through so much in his young life. I see these “boys” as a SUPERLATIVE specimen of MEN! Their music has captured my soul. Their silliness, joy in loving, respect of each other and embracing each other as brothers is what I dream for my younger family members. I pray for them everyday. I’m glad that they are still humble even with the tremendous success they have. They know how they have made it to the top and they show their deep appreciation for ARMY, hard work, determination, giving over 100% to everything in their lives. Love how they cook and care for each other physically as well as mentally, emotionally. I can go on and on but I’ll stop. Been diving since March, 2021! My 2 yr old GREAT GRANDSON loves their dancing & our “Tiny Tan” figures. My 4 yr old GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER loves “Chicken Noodle Soup” & “Dynamite”. Some of my Favs are “Daechwita”, “Mic Drop”, “Butter” “Fake Love” “On: Kinetic Manifesto”, “Black Swan” ….& ANYTHING JIMIN dancing solo!

I just want to leave it here that.. it has not been a very long time for me to join the family (army).. it's been around only six months..but these 7 boys aren't just an artist for us or singers or performers for us.. they are people who we look upto.. whose story inspire us.. whose messages through the songs...provides us a spark of light in our depressing times. We aren't a bunch of fangirls, we are a family of both the genders and diverse age groups... we excel at our work and feel happy because of them. On the darkest and saddest, seeing them smile makes us the happiest. And armys are very caring and supporting.. even if we talk online with each other.. without knowing each other's names, nationality, colour or race..no one judges each other..they are always there to lend a shoulder.. and it wouldn't have been possible because of these men who are angles. We don't love them for looks or visuals..we love them for who they are.. what story they tell us. We don't want to break records to show off our success..we do so to repay the boys what they gave us.. they gave us a reason to feel pleased.. and have the willing to live our life with loving it.. Even if you hate them today..the magic shop is always open for you..the family will welcome you with a big heart. Thank you for reading if you made it till the end

BTS’s fanbase is young, energetic, and millions times strong! We come from all over the world and we are many ages but we are all one big family! I might be a young 13 year old here who is going into high school next year, but I feel like I’m an army who could help give words of encouragement or advice to the young ones or even some people that are older than me 😅😊. I know almost everything about BTS (to be honest). However, I think we should all (yes. people of all ages) help the ARMYS who are misfortunate and don’t really know what it means to really be an army. a lot of the young ones complain about things like merchandise and stuff like that they can’t have because it’s too expensive or it’s not available in their country. *A real ARMY should be happy that BTS and ARMY changed his/her life! Not about the merchandise that BTS offers! and remember the only thing to get into the purple ocean is love yourself and purple BTS and ARMY!*

When I was in middle-school/highschool, pop bands were mainly directed at people of that age, so I see where the stigma comes from. The kids made pop their own, and adults looked down on them for it. But as Ive grown older, things have changed. People are starting to realize that kids are not some flighty beings, but are in fact smart individuals. Not only that, but things that were taboo in my day and age (i.e. mental health) is more commonly spoken about. I see my niece and nephews (next generation) openly speaking to their parents about things that press them, and in turn my peers being able to be open minded about these things. Not only that, older generations are also opening up and letting my generation in. I think it is absolutely lovely that there is a group out there that can lead by good example. They could have chosen to be any type of artist, but they chose to use their platform to show us kindness, generosity, and happiness. They speak of things that resound in the hearts of all ages and genders, without sounding condescending. They paved a way for fans to be able to do more than just "fangirling" by buying their merch, but by giving them autonomy to go out into the world and do good things too. It has allowed all people from different walks of life, religion, race, and gender to come together and appreciate something beautiful. This is just absolutely wonderful, and it does my heart good to know there is something this special put out into this universe

People respond and love BTS for countless reasons, for me what drew me to them all those years ago was the fact that they are relatable, they are genuine (flaws and all), they are soooo talented AND they consistently put out a positive message of empowerment without being heavy handed and self righteous even in the face of adversity. You can draw strength from their lyrics when you feel like you're in the darkest corner, and you can smile and laugh while watching one of their shows or lives. If good music with a positive message doesn't move you, you're humanity is in question 🤣🤣

This made me cry literally.. I see why they are so popular and loved by so many people. I am already 38 yrs old, I have 3 kids and they are asking me why I idolized bts. Since they are girls they like the kpop girls like Blackpink and Momoland. I explained to that age doesn't stop you from liking someone or idolozing people. It comes with various reason. Like for me, its just recently when I watched a video of BTs and from then I cannot stop myself being updated. Like literally watching all their YT videos, read all the tweets because I am really inspired of them. For us as mothers, we treat them as our sons that are achieving their dreams. I hope everyone understand this and love bts as ArMY love them. Sometimes I feel sorry for them because they are still humans but for their fans they doing everything they can to serve as a good inspiration. lets not forget that at tge end of the day theu still want to live a normal life, they are still getiing sick and want to do something fpr themswlves and they also have a family that missing them so much. I hope they continue what they continue to do and be safe always. Even tge most powerful person (Pres.of United State) was tested positive with Corona. So I pray that BTS will also be careful. We love them as much as they love us. So lets continue to pray for their success and safety as always.

I consider music to be a very important part of my life. I grew up with rock and punk, then blues, folk, jazz and a lot of classical music, occasionally jamming to some groovy dance tune and hip hop tracks, but always staying away from billboard charts and mainstream artists. Not because I thought they were bad, but because they either never spoke to me or never made me want to delve into their lyrics more. Then BTS came. I'm still processing in my head what made me embrace their artistry and lean onto them wholeheartedly almost instantly. To me it's almost like a philosophical question...what the hell happened?! xD Aside from being, obviously, a mix of various things such as aesthetics, lyrics, personalities, authenticity, high quality music production, sincere brotherhood and deep connection with their fans...which certainly matter a lot to me, there is something else I still cannot fully grasp. I'll get it eventually :] For now, I want to keep growing up with them and with the rest of the Army

I also appreciate many different styles of music, in various languages. I've always been rock-biased, though, so it totally shocked me that I fell so deeply and quickly for a "boy band"-style group (I dislike the term, b/c I know they are much more than that, but in the beginning, that's what I perceived them to be). I completely understand what you're saying. There are so many obvious reasons to love them, but there's that undefinable thing that just sucks you in and takes over, which I have read sooooo many people comment about, it's hard to deny. Almost like a spiritual connection to their music. Something that just resonates with your frequency, literally hitting the right notes! I've been around for a bit (😆), and I've been a fan of other groups (the fans of one of my favorites, BVB, are also called ARMY), but I've never cared about a group as much as BTS. And I only just discovered them earlier this year! For people like us who are still confused on how we went down this rabbit hole so fast, I think "Pied Piper" sums it up pretty well! 💜🤘

My BTS story: I have listened to KPop since 2010, and heared about BTS around 2015, but I didn't know why I was not in to them at that time. I just keep listening to other groups (wasn't as a fans). When they was comeback, I watch their MV maybe about couple times. Last November (2019), I gave up with my job because my depression & social anxiety gotten whorster, so I have a lot more time at home, I spend a lot of my time by watch youtube. And on their last comeback with "ON", I start to love their music & performance, I listen to their another songs, even the MV reaction from youtuber. That moment make me found a video called "BTS: From Nobodies to Legends". There is a song at the end of video that make me cry, I looked for what song is it and it's Epiphany. I start to know them more. Their story gave so much motivation & inspiration to me. Especially about the meaning of 'Bangtan'. From BTS, I know about the word of "Expectation", I realized that I lived my life by try to meet others expectation and it make me unhappy as a person. I keep watch their music & content, know their personality, their messages, etc. Since then, I stan for BTS as a Proud ARMY. I start to do what I love to do, start to love my self and build on my confident back. I do youtube too this day, I love BTS so I'm trying make some videos of BTS update. And the most bless is I got so much love from ARMY all around the world, I feel like I'm not alone. Although I have not really cure yet, but I'm getting better. I love to share BTS updates, love when somebody appreciate them. Meet BTS at their concert is one of my bucket list now. Thank you BTS, Thank you ARMY 💜 That's my story, how about you? (he/him, 33 yo)

There were a few years between the ages fourteen and seventeen I had literally no friends. I stayed locked in my room 24/7. I would self-harm and do other terrible things. I no longer wanted to live. But I started praying a lot and God started helping me out of that dark hole. One of the things he gave me was BTS. Even though they’re “just some boys on the internet” they became my friends. They made me feel happiness for the first time in a long time. But not only happiness, they inspired me to be more courageous, humble, and kind. Because of this I started to reconnect with my sibling who had grown apart because of family issues. Now we are really close. Instead of locking myself in my room 24/7 and hurting myself, I am now following my dreams of acting, writing, and dance. I can never thank God enough for showing me BTS, and I can never thank BTS enough for being my friends when nobody not even myself liked me.

For people asking, I/we do not idolise or worship them, I LOVE them from the bottom of my soul, I RESPECT them like no one else, you have no idea how much they are precious to me. I wish them to be happy forever and even if I don’t meet them or go to a concert, I feel so good by just knowing such pure people exist.💜💜 Honestly BTS has a lot of fans worldwide, broken so many records and all but I still feel like they are underrated?? Like they legit deserve to be respected by every human in the world lol

Just this year, i turned to become a new army. In my 29 years of existence. This is the first time that i got to love a k-pop group, not because of their looks but because of thier music and the stories behind it.

Yes, xCeleste has always created amazing contents about BTS. You can also recommend this commentary film to new Armys about American musicians showing respect and appreciation for BTS music and their positive messages. This is so sweet! It represents many of the reasons I fell into this fandom. As an older Army who just really got into this whole BTS thing during 2020 quarantine, I struggle to explain my new found devotion to my friends and family. But they just seem like genuine, hardworking, talented, beautiful people. I love their music, lyrics, positive messages and sense of humor. What can I say? Their content just makes me happy...and makes me want to try a little harder in my own life too. PS Thank you for your great content too! 💜

I'm so proud for being an Army.. I'm just even, more proud they achieved their goals after so much hardship.. I've never cried or worried so much for a group of boys in my entire life, I'm not even this concerned for my family, I feel like they're my parents and Army's are my siblings who support them no matter what, BTS taught me smth that no one ever did for me, something I myself never could've done, they taught me to love myself, I want to thank them for sharing their story their hardship their happiness and their lives with us I want to thank them for their music which constantly heals my mind and gives me life I want to thank them for giving their all even when they were going through a lot for us.. I want to thank them for being there for me I want to thank them for making me believe in myself, cause now I am happy so much happy like I've never been and the reason is them, just by hearing their voices soothes me.. They've been through a lot so much that I can't even comprehend but no matter what I was am and always will be here, cause I can't seem to cure my addiction to them sorry not sorry, I also want them to know that Namjoon, Jin, yoongi, Hoseok, jimin, Tae hyung, jungkook, I LOVE YOU, and thank you for everything and congratulations on becoming the kings you deserve, I PURPLE YOU 💜 Also Dynamite IS and will be the next record breaker of this century, it's gonna break the freaking internet!! 🔥 be ready guys I don't think we will survive this... 💘

I was a BTS hater back then. But their "boy with luv" MV kept bothering me that day. Then I gave up and watched it.. The first, I just wanna know the "peach haired man" and the "boy with white suit and cap". Then I searched them on Google and found every informations about them. Their name, face, and other ID. That happened in 1 May 2019. Then I started to watching their other MVs, Bangtan Bomb and everything related with them.. And slowly I love them. Know their name with just looking at their eyes, and more. Ngl, they're the first korean boyband that I love. And now my love is 100% for them. And this video, makes me cry a lot.. I love you Bangtan. Borahe💜 I dunno what will be happen with the world without these 7 amazing kings!!

I am starting my journey with BTS. I am usually an SM stan Exo, NCT, SuperM, Aespa, etc fan. I have to say they are very strong admirable. I don't understand why they received so much hate. I think if you dislike someone you shouldn't threaten someone. Plus I cannot understand these toxic fans and their wars when they are friends with other idols from different groups. I am glad they did not give up despite all odds having been against them

I don't understand why her video doesn't have more views on it. This video is like a staple in introducing new people to bts. It's a first step.
