I knew this would a slightly controversial opinion hahah! The 4000D is great for the price. Always has been IMO. But for around $15 less and no tinted glass, I'm willing to overlook the cable bar and front Type-C omissions in the 3000D. This case didn't garner a ton of attention when it launched a while back, so I thought this would be a nice reminder that, yes, Corsair actually sells stuff that doesn't break the bank. The only thing i think this has over the 4000 is dual usb As. I always thought this should have been an matx case leaving good space for a top AIO with the same specs as the 4000.

Having gun blueprints hanging on the wall in the background isn't the deterrent you think it is. Just means that if someone is gonna come after you, they'll come loaded for bear, in full combat armor, with armor piercing ammo. Happened to me. Keep that on the DL and leave people to wonder. Puts you in a far better tactical position. Also, the 1911 is not the best full sized pistol anymore. All things being equal, you can push just as much energy out of an M9, perhaps more, because it is a stronger design. And you got double the rounds. Still gets a bad rap because they mistakenly loaded test ammo with .50 BMG powder back in the '80s, which is considerably more energetic than pistol powder. Also, soldiers have to use FMJ NATO ammo, which ends up making the .45ACP more effective, generally speaking, and why special forces still use them. But a double tap from an M9 is better than a single .45ACP round so the M9 is still better for the average soldier. And, yes, I know they're in the process of replacing the M9, which was unnecessary and a terrible decision because the SIG they chose has some issues. Real issues, not a simple ammunition issue. Some people are definitely getting illegal income from that deal, that's for sure. The 92FS was the first centerfire handgun I practiced with and, at this point, I've put tens of thousands of rounds through them. Have never had an issue. Not a single one. It even sucked down crappy, cheap ammo that jammed other guns. Steel case ammo...no problem. A-Merc ammo (the worst ammo ever sold on the civilian market), no problem. Meanwhile, I've had multiple jams with 1911s. The pen may be mightier than the sword but in the modern US, ignorance trumps everything. And if you are ever unlucky enough to be forced to defend yourself with deadly force, it definitely won't be whatever you expect it to be.

the only way I could regret a PC case purchase is by spending more than $100 on one or getting a case with zero ventilation. My first build was a 486 in a nondescript beige box. But it was baby AT, the original SFF format. I also had one of the first MBs you could OC in BIOS and it was highly integrated, for the standard of the day. Only had 2 cards in it - a PCI video card and a SB16. Overclocked the crap out of it - 120MHz with a 40MHz FSB. And had a massive 28 MB of RAM. Almost comical to say that today but it was a really nice PC for the time. They say you can't play Quake on a 486...I disagree. I had FP performance benchmarking like a Pentium 60 and integer math was like a P75. This is why I still tell people to build 5800X3D rigs instead of paying the premium for AM5 and DDR5. You need DDR5-6400 CL32 to match the performance of DDR4-3200 CL16 and it just isn't worth it yet.

This is basically a cutdown version of the 4000D Airflow. No cable management bar, no option for a vertical mount, and not front psu clip. Obviously a different front panel. But the case should fit 280mm top mounted with low profile ram. And I just noticed that the front panel buttons are mounted differently from the 4000D. And the 4000D has a type-c port.

4000D vertical mount has a very niche use-case. No one's gonna press their air-cooled card right up against glass (sensibly, anyway). I've grown to hate rear-mounting PSUs. Type-C port is the only thing I really see folks preferring over this, but I'm not sure it's worth the $15 difference.

I made a build in this case a couple of weeks ago and while it's cheap it has some deal breakers: - fans RGB pins are not standard - it includes an RGB splitter but not a PWM - it has the cutouts for 2.5 drives on the back of the motherboard but not the mounting - front fans are not mounted in a bracket, just screwed in the case. Usually it wouldn't bother me, but the lower fan installation makes you remove the HDD caddy to be able to screw/unscrew them

I agree with the 4000D as the best. I just built my new system using the 4000D, and it DOES have the USB-C upfront as well as several other nice to haves...seems a bit bigger.. but if your budget is really tight this could be a good one.. but for an additional $20.. the 4000D is worth it.

Looks a lot like the Corsair 275R Airflow, which is what I have. I think the biggest difference is that it has much larger holes for cable routing.

When I was looking for a case to upgrade to 6 months ago, I was choosing between 3 cases: 4000d, 5000d, and 7000d. I'd have gone with the 4000d because of its airflow and great price, but I was intent on running a dual gpu setup. For this to work, I'd need ample airflow, and I was worried that the 4000d wouldn't be enough for it. The 5000d and 7000d both have options to mount extra intake fans on the side of the case. This way, you'd have air coming in from the front and side. The 7000d seemed too expensive, large, and overkill for my uses. So I chose the 5000d. Yes, I know SLI has been dead for a long time making dual gpu systems useless. I have a dual monitor setup, so I wanted to have my main gpu running my main monitor. And a second weaker gpu running my second monitor to reduce the load on my main gpu.

Actually, you can use a second GPU to handle the overhead for Lossless Scaling Frame Gen (really just an FSR3 implementation that is done as a global setting, rather than on a per game basis). This is a great way to make use of your old GPU, especially if you are someone who can't afford to go out and buy a 4090. It also allows FSR Frame Gen to run on any game, even if it doesn't natively support it. Something like a $25 GTX 670SC would be a great compliment to a budget RTX 3060 build. Powerful enough to run the frame generation and leave the 3060 to do the rasterization at full capacity. Would basically allow you to run the game at higher settings without sacrificing framerate compared to just the 3060.

The 4000D is only about $5 more on Amazon if you don care about size and it has some things corrected/changed about the 3000D that you didn't like.

One of my builds has an old Corsair airflow case and it's held up remarkably well, and looks pretty much the same despite being years old. I'm in the market for a more modern case now with all the new features, but not a fat square box or a fishtank.

If you have longer cables or cable extentions, it can be used for cables, so I wouldn't call it wasted space. Better space to close the back side panel.

This case has been great for my home theater machine. It accomodates by Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 and fans in the front. 5600X idles at 30C and six fans running at 950rpm, day and night. Great airflow compared to my older Corsair Carbide 275Rs, which did not allow enough space for the ALF II 360 radiator thickness. No RGB and all black kit really is a stealth build for a home theater.

Recently I picked up a new case at Micro Center. I was going to choose this case but I ended up with a cooler master TD300. It was marked down to 15bucks you heard me correct 15bucks and there was 4 more lol! When I went to the register the employee said I guess were just giving away cases now lol.

Lol, went to the convenience store an hour ago. Got a 3pk of Modelo tallboys. Rang up for $3.25 after tax. Went back and grabbed the rest. Because the tag on the rack said $2.99, it had to have been a typo when entered into the system, just as a $15 TD300 would be. That is less than wholesale cost. But there's nothing they can do about it in the moment. When you get an opportunity like that, you make the most of it. Could double or even triple your money in a day or two, listing the ones you don't need on CL. I once ordered a 128GB OEM style Hynix NVME drive from Amazon and ended up getting a dozen. I sold 10 of them on eBay and netted around $200.

I got this case (3000D RGB) instead of the 4000D just because i needed two frontal USB A ports instead of an A and a C port, and its looks have grown on me a lot, it looks so nice tbh

I've been a fan of Corsair for the past year as their fans, AIOs and cases are very good quality. It's kind of like you're paying for a name brand more so than anything but ever since I set up my past two builds, they work so well and look amazing. Their ICUE software is very good as well and allows for a lot of customization to RGB profiles. This was a good build. Well done sir.

I have the 4000D which is an exact replica of this case. I like it because it has great air flow. Mine has a USB A and USB C on the front top panel.

Both the 3000D and the 4000D need an extra inch in height, added to the top of the case for extra radiator clearance. As it is, it is designed for fans only to comfortably clear the Motherboard, at the top edge. Also being OCD having the top fans offset to one side does my head in too, they should be central.

Regarding the clear side panel. Well it's good you like that. What I miss is a solid steel side panel. No tempered glass, acrylic panel or window at all. Just a solid black steel side panel.

Would love to see a comparison between the 3000D and the 4000D. I have the 4000D and it looks just like it on the inside. looks to me like the made a cheaper front, taller legs and didn't tint the glass and gave it a new name.

Nice-looking case. Reminds me a bit of the Fractal Define S I used with my last build, albeit with front panel offering better airflow and a perforated top panel. In my location, dust is a big issue, hence my decision to go with the Fractal case, and I included additional dust filtering in front of the front panel. Internal temps might be higher, but I don't have to worry about losing components due to corrosion caused by salty dust deposits.

The only reason was because i also dont like the tinted glass panel haha, you are definitely not alone on that Greg, i also prefer the clear look. i do like this case a lot the main difference from the 4000d for me is the front io, most of am4 didnt support tpye c. So the one usb A and one C was just a single port for me. Although for my next build in a few years i think i want to do a matx so if the have a version of this like a 2000d or somtehing thatd be cool

Always enjoy the videos Greg, My personal favourite budget choice is the Fractal Focus 2, and the 3000D is like a Corsair version of that case, so I'm down! main difference, obviously 3x120mm fans instead of the 2x140mm you get with the focus 2 but very much a similar layout, possibly 3000D is better as they have a top on the basement.

As long as you don't have to use the horrible icue software. I recommend OpenRGB for the lighting. I've used OpenRGB in the past when icue software kept crashing or playing havok with the keyboard. Switched to OpenRGB and everything worked well and could customize the lights yourself for each key. I like Corsair keyboards, cases, psu's. Just not the software side of it at all.

I built my stepson a new system in this case for Christmas and I have to say that it was lovely to work inside and looks beautiful!! No RGB though, because I'm an adult and I was the builder 😂😂😂😂 Another great video we have here too Greg 🎉🎉 Edit....... It was actually a 4000 I built in and I I only just remembered that because it has a USB-C on the front panel. They're both amazing cases though!!!

Adults can appreciate infinitely adjustable mood lighting too. Bet you thought all they can do is spit out RGB puke, like they do in default mode. I have a hot tub with RGB. Soaking in a soft blue glow is extra relaxing. Colors like yellow and red can be invigorating. Green is somewhere in-between. There is a whole science to light therapy.

@@Lurch-Bot Yep it's only my personal preference and everyone has their own. I'd definitely have colour in a tub or pool but I'd find it distracting in a pc case. I have however seen some beautiful setups with mild lighting being displayed in places though.

Oben air chassies are not the best. You want the directed airflow from a case. Unless the case has no fans and/or no airflow holes, you are better off with a case and its panels all closed. If you have to open up the side panel b/c of overheating, you should also point something like a desk fan at it, too.

This case will also have the same problem as the 4000d when using ram like corsair vengeance or height similar ram you won't be able to use an AIO on the top it will not clear the ram unless you use low profile ram

I’ve built 3 4000D with AM4 platforms inside. All have Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB, and all have 240 AIOs top mounted. Might be a little tight but no problems. As Greg notes it’s only an issue with 280s.

Not a bad case but I don't see any reason to go with it over 4000d, yes the 4000d is a bit more expensive but IMO it's worth the 20-30$. I actually got a slightly used 4000d for 50$ last year and moved my main PC into it, after some customization it fits my needs for now but my dream case is Thermaltake CTE 750 and unfortunately it's not available to purchase in my country so the 4000d will do for now.
