Toriyama gave her a soft exit, with the lore explaining that she chased Tien. For some reason, people understood that he forgot about her but that's not quite the case. She chases Tien for 5-8(?) years, Tien avoids her because he's a recluse, then Raditz happen, then the training/gathering happens at the lookout (Lunch simply can't find Tien anymore), Tien dies, and the grand Saiyan-Freeza arc ends up with everyone coming back then parting ways. Then Trunks appears, then Goku, then again back to training for the androids, which ends up with Cell saga. Storywise, she was left out and didn't fit in anymore, with everyone kinda settling in. Yamcha going his sports career, Vegeta & Bulma together, Goku back/absent with Chichi & Gohan having to grow up & discover himself, Piccolo living alone or on the lookout (if we involve Dende as replacement part), Krillin living with Roshi then with Android 18/Lazuli... Oh, and that at one point, she gave up on Tien because she doesn't like farming, and just left, visiting him & Chiaotzu from time to time while she's doing her thing. Again though - storywise, lore-wise - she didn't fit anymore with the crew similarly. It's the same type of soft exit you've had with episodic charaters in the original DB and in DBZ with, let's say, the Namekians. But I also think that there are three more reasons: a) Tienshinhan isn't really liked as a character, b) Tienshinhan has a power limit similar to Roshi and the rest of the earthlings (only Krillin is classed as "the strongest human", so you go with what you want), c) Toriyama _half-_ complicated himself with many characters & storymaking (and he kinda wasn't that good at it), _half-_ he understood Tienshinhan irrelevancy with the general public, and Lunch's plotpoint limit as well tied to Tienshinhan. It makes sense why she dropped off. Lunch was perfect for the original Dragon Ball story. No power levels, no planets, no aliens, no parallel universes... Once Toriyama, more or less, gave everyone their own shtick (or how he planned it), Lunch became the absent character that didn't, and couldn't, add more to the story in itself by other virtue of _"Look, that character is still alive. Ha ha, she still sneezes and turns into different personalities."_ Roshi is the depleted fighter that is lewd. Bulma is a ultra-wealthy person with brains to match. The rest of the Z-fighters are just there just to confirm they're not dead or as eye candy. Really, Dragon Ball doesn't have a use for "depleted", limited characters. It is what it is. _P.S._ Do I have to remind you that both Goku and Vegeta could wish back for their homeplanet back, with everyone that was killed by Freeza (their parents, siblings, everyone), yet they still casually just go on with being frenemies with Freeza? Isn't that odd? Even with those ultra-mega dragon balls the size of planets or the Namekian ones even? Well, now you understand the logic behind Lunch's irrelevancy. At least she's alive. It's just that Chekhov's gun has run out of bullets with her...

The man got a huge lazer blast through the chest and got his wounded pec brutalized by Picolo, yet his still gets up and continues the battle Its kinda amazing how absolutly broken and beaten he gets by the end, yet never gives up no mater what, fights to the last tiny trop of strengh he has left and winning out by the skin of his teeth.

Master Roshi blew up the moon in the second arc. His power level was like 180 with the Kamehaha. It is hard to imagine how much power just Radditz had. Being 10 times stronger than a guy who could blow up the moon. Nappa was over 20 times stronger Vegeta was 100 times stronger (1000 times stronger as an Ozaru) Cell could have blown up the earth by flapping his wings if he wanted to. But the only two people we see blow up the earth did do so relatively effortlessly with Kid Buu (est 200 million times stronger than Roshi) and Frieza (est 11 billion times stronger than Roshi)

Animelon, the difference between this situation and the Raditz fight is that piccolo shot Goku in the left side of the chest but missed his vital organs but considering that wounded hole, piccolo have the sheer pleasure of attacking Goku while he's wounded and did so by kicking, stomping and mashing his foot on it as a way of punishment for crimes against him and his father, Raditz on the other hand repeatedly stomp on Goku's chest, crushing his ribs and in turn, Gohan uses his hidden powers to dealt the heavy impact on his uncle's chest and wirh Goku holding on to his brother, this gave piccolo the chance to impale them both with the special beam cannon which was intended to kill Goku, killing them both in the chest and none of the characters had any sensu beans at the time so there was no way Goku would survive after that unless he had a bean. Goku's softness and his overconfident gets him into situations which nearly kills him
