A lot of them do have mobile phones, internet is not easily accessible like most countries but the park at the end is where they can go and access free Wii fi, as for social media you will be surprised how up to date they are. What bothers me as a Cuban is how many of these young people do smoke cigarettes. I live in Europe but travel more to the Dominican Republic, my wife is Dominicana and Dominicanos don’t smoke cigarettes as much as Cubans do.

That is a VERY SUPERFICIAL reading of the Cuban reality, in Cuba we have a dictatorship, there is no freedom of expression, that is just the perception of a street!!!! However ask those “apparently happy” young people if they really are.... Or get out of that street to see the reality of our country, people with more than 70 hours of blackout, huge queues to buy a piece of bread, hospitals without medicine, hope long ago abandoned Cuba and now everyone only thinks about how to get out of there.... I understand your ignorance, but making these statements are totally wrong and generate a lot of anger to those who have suffered the reality of living in a prison island.
