Love his voice. He was the lead singer for the Temptations during 64-68 & is best known for the songs "My Girl" & "Ain't Too Proud To Beg." He also had a great solo career later. "My Whole World Ended (The Moment You Left Me)", "I Lost Everything I've Ever Loved", "I'm So Glad I Fell For You", "Common Man" "No Matter Where", "Who I Am", "Statue Of A Fool" etc.

You might also want to check out David's big brother, Jimmy Ruffin's "What becomes of the broken hearted." Talent struck twice in that family😀 David was the most famous, because of his solo career and his work with the Temptations. But, Jimmy was no slouch, either!☺

I live in Detroit absolutely love rock and roll, but Motown is part of my soul. When I was a younger man I was assaulted by a Detroit police officer. I met Mr. David Ruffin at 36 District Court ,before the courtroom opened. I had noticed mr. Ruffin standing in the corner with a lawyer that was known because of his TV commercials Larry Kor n. I introduced myself an asked if I could shake his hand. Told him how much I loved his music and was honored to meet him. It's most unfortunate he had grown an addiction to drugs and passed away too early such a great voice and Legend

Did you know that Michael Jackson paid for David Ruffin's funeral? He passed away in 93 and he was financially unstable from drugs and alcohol and child support. MJ saw the need of his influence singing "My Girl". He had to do his part.

David Ruffin is amazing. was so sorry that this brilliant man passed away. His voice had an almost crying reaction to most of his songs. Great reaction Shawn and Mel! Love this song, also! My fav. one by Mr. David Ruffin is; "My whole world ended the moment you left me". Hope you two can react to that! Thanks again! :)

The epitome of Soul. "Moves" right out the box. That voice gets into the stratosphere. Shawn, I notice you and I were gripping that fist about the same times. And I think that is indeed live!! There was no one like David . G-D that crack! Thank you so much for this reaction!

It makes me feel good to see this younger generation appreciate real music and lyrics. Also understand that back in those days when someone walked out the door, they were gone.. There was no internet, texting, etc.. too keep in touch.

What a voice. David Ruffian is right up there with Marvin Junior lead for the Dells two of the greatest voices in music. Marvin Jr had a more gospel feel to his voice Hand clapping Foot Stomping.Yet he could be just as sweet. David was mellow Sweeeet velvet.both of them had that scratchiness ( don't know if that's even a word) in their voices when they sang✌️

I was in born in 83. This is 1 of my favorite male singers. And I realize this song got the realest verse ever in it: I rather leave you holding on; then you pushing me away. MEANING: I rather leave now, before you stop loving me and then WANT ME GONE .( Cause its a horrible feeling loving someone who don't love you back). THAT SH!T REAL.. NEW SUBBIE BTW

This was always my fave Ruffin song but there is some competition now with his spectacular song Slow Dance. Omg...check that one out! He is the best singer that ever came out of the USA. That was a little slice of heaven. He is amazing. One of my favorite songs. When you play these old Soul Train clips, be sure and watch the dancers closely. The best ones are usually on the platforms to the side or back of the singer. There was one man who was going to town. You know it was a good song when you see people moving like that. So much fun! :)
