We adopted a 5 mo Rottweiler puppy, not housebroken. She WILL NOT pee or poop at the end of her leash no matter how long we walk. Also, when I take her outside first thing in the morning or later, after her nap---I have never caught her relieving herself. What can I do to potty train her? At the moment she's having less accidents in the house because I've been anticipating.

Zak, I came into the care of a 11 week old american staffordshire terrior / german shepherd mix in November 2020. Your videos, both your books, and the Pupford Perfect Pup course have been A LIFESAVER. I agree. I know for sure I will have to leave the puppy alone for at least 4.5 hours at a time during the first couple weeks (and that's WITH me taking extended lunch breaks to come home to check on her), and then prob 9 hours at a time soon after that. I fully accept I'm coming home to accidents and a lonely dog. I want to make it as stress-free as possible, though.

There is a lot of good information in these videos and Zak is good at training the average well behaved pet dog. I'm watching these videos to fill in with daily life between the competitional obedience, which requires more precision. :) There are so many things being taught to this puppy (jumping upon furniture and people) that I'm working hard on forbidding my puppy from doing though, haha! A mastiff I'm working with is having trouble with "take a bow". She went to a training school previously and learned all the basics down pat, but sense she's so good at "lay-down", I'm having some trouble teaching her "take a bow". I've been slowly working on just rewarding when she puts her head down, and adding prais when she moves a front paw in order to reach, but she wants to think "down" so easily. But we'll get there! -hopefully. Slow and steady wins the race.

I'd love to see a series where you work with fearful adult dogs who just freeze whenever you try to introduce them to anything new - those are mostly rescues. I foster a family of rescue puppies, and the mommy is so fearful that any trying to work on something miserably fails. She's afraid yo be pucked up, she's afraid to be outside, she's afrsid to go out of her room, you name it... she tends to be agressive too, exept towards me. Very challenging. I'd love to see you work on difficult dog like that. I love the format of your videos, it'd be nice to see a day to day work on a dog like the one I'm fostering now. If at all possible, in the future. I'm truly lost at this point..🥺🥺😧😧

Well, working people have a right to own a pet. Some are better owners than the ones at home all day doing nothing. All I'm saying is that there should be a way the working class can train their pet. I don't need your sarcasm or ignorance. You can choose.
@Isabella-de7kv4 жыл бұрын
@@maritzavelez7910 I wasn’t being ignorant at all, just stating the obvious. I am working 40 hours a week as well and only just got a puppy as I’m in the home office until September. Young dogs are so much work and require constant attention. In my, non-ignorant and non-sarcastic opinion, you should only get a puppy if you have loads of time.
