What a shock to see this on here. I absolutely love them and I was so lucky to see them here in the middle of Kansas a few years ago when they did a worldwide tour. It's sold out almost immediately although it was almost all people a lot younger than me. It was in a small venue that holds about 500 people and the decibel level of the audience response was off the charts. What an absolutely fun live show.

Priceless reaction, laugh. They actually performed this live on the David Letterman show at one point. And they played it at the concert I saw here in Lawrence Kansas. But you have to understand they started off as performance art Duo and so they've always been very artistic. And there's just way too much to be said, the whole zefside movement in South Africa and all that but there's a bit of tragedy there too because that shorter guy you see that looks a little disfigured? That was there DJ in childhood friend but he had that disease that stunts your growth and makes you look funny and then he died early from it. They replaced him with this really large black guy who not only is a DJ but plays drums and things. He is in this much later video that I will link too, which is fantastic storytelling visually. And a great song. But the visuals are just stunning. It's called fatty boom boom oh, and it's basically a video answer to a Twitter flame War they got into with Lady Gaga at one point. She asked them to be her opening act on a world tour and they turned her down because they thought it would make them too mainstream. In the meantime, she thought it would lend her act some more Edge. So she reacted angrily at first and said well then good luck getting millions of followers like I have. So they made this video to a song they were already working on. But then they patched it up afterwards and they get along. Yolandi Vi$$er is actually quite beautiful but she always has these weird haircuts and they like to play up that they were from the wrong side of the tracks but it's also part of the performance art aspect. Not a big fan of Die Antwoord but I always like their art and end-up watching whatever they produce. I was in South Africa about a year and a half ago, at the time I remember reading that this couple in Die Antwoord decided to leave Los Angeles and move back to Cape Town in South Africa because "LA was too soft and normal" .. After spending time in South Africa, I could see what he meant, place is off the flippin' rails, was about to tip-over at any minute. Die Antwoord seems to flip back and forth between English and Afrikaans, often mixing the two together, something I experienced quite a bit especially among whites in South Africa.

The video for the song Baby's on Fire is about a family who's son is the one that pulls the strings and boss that won't let his sister "get off" with a guy while he alway having women with him. The brother chases away the guy with a sword, a gun, etc. The video for the song Fatty Boom Boom is another freaky one, but with interesting wardrobe and body paint and African rhythm.
