The homestead vision is springing to life with each pass of tractor and drop of sweat. My dad used to tell us boys, “do what you can, with what you have, where you are, then hold your head high knowing you’ve done your absolute best.” You remind me of him, young man!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Pond area is looking nice, entrance to field also looked inviting. Looking forward to seeing your project take form. Glad to hear about stepping the fill in. Every time I see someone working with mud on a hillside I’m always reminded of an incident that happened south of where I grew up when I was much younger. It was a rainy spring morning, the farmer up on the hill had just finished planting his field a little before the rain started. The field got so wet that the entire field collapsed and slid off into the valley below. Several houses were nearly buried in about 30’ of mud. The entire valley was a written off by the insurance companies and even the town abandoned the roads. It was abandoned by everyone except one family that was under insured and couldn’t afford to relocate. There were fundraisers to help them and a local contracting company donated an excavator and a dump truck. Last I heard the single family was left digging out and selling the topsoil that filled the area off one load at a time to help cover the cost to operate the truck and excavator. Never heard if they ever accomplished anything, for all I know +30 years later, they might still be digging out. Wishing you and your family the best.

One pass at a time, you're getting there, Captain ! Having a flat area in front of your house will be excellent, but it will take a few bucks to make it happen..... you could use the 555, but that would take a long, long time to move the quantity you need....😮 but no doubt it could do the job 💪💪💪 Good to see your eldest helping out, is she stick picking for pocket money ? Pond park is on the final straight too 👍😁

As you upgrade the backhoe with a thumb and continue to restore the machine you will complete more but you will complete it with a stronger and safer piece of equipment. If you really want to polish off dirt after you have it spread out get yourself about 50ft of used chain link fence. You fold it over on itself a few times until it's about 8ft long. Then you take a piece of old pipe or tube or I-beam, just about anything and slide it inside into one of the folded over ends and hook a chain to it for pulling with the tractor or whatever you want to pull out with. You can wire some other scrap steel on top to add some weight to it. When you use it it's just like 600 grit sandpaper on wood. It'll break all the chunks up and blend everything nicely.

I think that "road drag" was a great build, you seem to use it a lot. I also liked the "current trend of not breaking things, let's cut her in half" follow by picking up BOTH halves. (Especially since I was thinking that log would be a strain for a larger tractor, but once again, the 755 proves me wrong!) Thanks for the video, take care!
