You should be able to rotate the doors such that the open position allows the zombies to cross, and the closed position acts as the shute for dropping them down. Dont forget to double up on your crossing poles in case zombies destroy the top most layer. That way they can continue pathing (redundancy)

I was going to give the splatter effect mod a try, but had to disable it due to the changing of sounds. First time I hit a zombie in the head with a bone knife, it made the most horrific, loud noise. A volume change and couple more hits later and I just couldn't stand it anymore. Sounded nothing like the soft, piercing sound of the base game. Going to try and figure out later how to disable the sound changes in order to use the visuals.

The drop doors for the horde base will work better if you turn them 90 degrees. So, placed as they are the zombies can hang out on the frames (or get caught). In their current position and you open the door, that's the position the frame should be in. This means that you open the door for them to see the pathing then close it to dump them. Unless this has been changed but I don't believe it has.

Love how the fighting position is turning out Tem~ I've never tried having a horde base be done in an enclosed indoor style. Its really something I'm probably gonna give a go in my next save soon. Having the fighting position be done in an enclosed setting does give alot of options for various traps to be utilized compared to an open one~

As someone who tried playing on the Navezgane Map a lot of times with very little success.. it nice to see GNS also doing this map. as I always felt like not many people like playing on the map.

Everything is spread out and even the "big" cities are small, as compared to a random gen map. You definitely need wheels to get around on Navezgane, or loot respawn. And as we have seen, the missions for the traders are all 1k ish in distance. The multiple missions mod is is definitely great for this map.

It really is a terrible map and many traders are just too distant from any pois they might send you to. As soon as i figured out how to use the map creator feature I never looked back.

The Navezgane map is like the game: handcrafted and a work in progress. Ordinarily, I would go for handcrafted content over randomly computer generated anything any time, but not with Navezgane. The locations of stores and other structures are obviously intended to provide the player with the items necessary to play and, so, seem artificially out of place. A Savage Country store sitting by itself in the middle of nowhere? Y'okay. Not sure how that would have worked for residents before "the event", but if that's what TFPs are going to do, that's what they're going to do. Personally, I would have experimented around with and picked an awesome, procedurally generated map that, when playtested, felt evenly balanced and added the forthcoming handcrafted content (e.g. Noah and The Duke's respective compounds) to it to create the "official" map. I've tested the RWG extensively and come up with a few that were near-perfect. Navigating them at least, felt far more organic despite the procedural generation. The rest (and there were many) didn't feel good at all. It seems to me they're treating Navezgane as a means to try and increase the appeal of the wilderness areas rendered moot by the change in skill progression systems from "learn by doing" to "learn by looting". If that's the case, it's coming off as extremely artificial.

@@chrishubbard64 it really is an terrible map.. missions are too far away from traders, the progress is extremally slow, there isn't even any good Houses near the Traders to move into and try and live in. There is way too many hills and mountains on the map also, making traveling with either bike or walking really annoying. Honestly that map need to go back to the drawing board.. and reworked. the premade ones are much better to play on then that map. and map creation is even better then those.

Loving this playthrough so far! Idea for another - kinda the nemesis of this one - Frequent wandering hordes. I love Darkness Falls mod and how it has the option to change wandering hordes. I dunno how easy/hard it would be but, a wandering horde every 6-12 hours or something? Maybe that's been done already but I'd watch you do it.

Early on like this, when using spear, and 2 or more zoms moving together, aim at the legs to separate them. Spear has great knockdown on all but the strongest enemies when you stab their legs. Can really help getting room to fight.

If you place a few diagonal blocks perpendicular and above your walkway, they should get bumped off of it when they jump or try climbing on top of each other.

Daring adventurer isnt just for the final tier reward it increase the reward you get for every quest and if you mac it out you get to choose two rewards on every quest. It easily the most over powered perk

Very nice and fun concept for this series. But after a few episodes, I prefer the format of 2 days per episode. Also to get the claim auto repair block you will need a solar cell to build it. So you will need to get the adventuring perk to buy those.

I hesitate to suggest to a such pro; but consider moving your wall facing ladder(s) out a block. Build a reinforced tower with the ladder attached (or three ladders) avoiding the overhead door until you can deal with its HP.

ive actually found decent usage from blade/spike traps with the better spikes mod, stronger blade traps. like 1500hp on the wood spikes and 7500 on the blade traps.

The potential of exploding zombies damaging or knocking out adjacent fighting paths is a bit of a danger here, so I'd recommend putting some form of barrier between the paths. It doesn't need to be the entire pathway, though. Just the two blocks directly at the fighting position window should do. That said, I am starting to wonder about just how badly the virus' mutation is going to screw you over during the Day-7 action. So far luck's been kind to you, Temreki, but fate and luck are fickle, temperamental ladies. Who knows when they decide to 'play rough' with you?

The dropped door system will work if the full door is on the other side of the wall, not half of it. That's why they keep getting caught on it

A few notes.. 1. that repair block is SLOW. Like almost unusable in its current state. Maybe 4 or 5 blocks repaired per day. It searches every block space randomly slowly and repairs a block of it finds one.. but that's thousands of blocks in its area at a block per few seconds. 2. The door trap is great but personally I'd put it one block further so you're not standing on it and I'd turn the frame vertical so that when the door is open they can stand.. closing the door dropping them. the will reduce the frame to a small pole on one side, making them much less likely to be able to stand on it. I do love the base design though and it'll take a lot to bring the base down. I might have to try that square shape, I usually use the double pole shape horizontal

That's the thing about the locked doors in this game: they can't be unlocked. TFPs are using them as part of the level design, trying to guide players along a specific path through the "dungeons" by locking and unlocking specific doors. Locked doors can only be destroyed.

You could place your trap doors sideways so that they form the floor when they are open. That way there is only one edge for them to stand on and the door frame doesn't go all the way round to the center. They can still end up on the side but not nearly as often when there is only one edge and it doesn't line up with the center poles you have across the gap.
