What if it was the man who cooked and the woman who was mechanical? They would still be balanced. God would have made them that way. Would you still see it as perfectly balanced? Or is your view of perfection rooted in human kind’s definitions of work being male or female? Most couples find their own perfect balance based on the strengths and weaknesses their creator gave each. I just don’t think there is a divine idea of perfect balance based on human definitions. Meg and Ben have worked hard to find the balance that works for them. Praise to them for finding it.

Mama .bonnie ~ I couldn't agree more. Ben may be a Jack Of All Trades, but he's raising four specialists! That's definitely the way to do it. Their own proclivities will surface when they do and thankfully Ben is so all-around talented, they'll each get master-level guidance. Meanwhile, Buggie is learning from the best of the best in the kitchen. ~ It's such a joy to watch this family!

NEVER feel guilty about showing your well-used kitchen. We all love the look of an immaculate kitchen - with everything put away/in place - but that is easily achieved with 5 - 15 minutes of cleanup. Kitchens which are ALWAYS immaculate are not producing food as delicious and wholesome as yours (and mine Lol !!!).

I'm 42 years old and I have gradually figured out what must be in a box of hamburger helper, but I've never had one in our kitchen, and if my mom did, I was little and don't recall. I'm not picking on anyone who uses it, (although I cringe for the MSG etc. that's probably in it, and my mom dis use beef bouillon which has that, even the one's in the health food stores.. ) I'm just noting that yeah, there are folks out here who have no experience with that stuff :) ! I used to wonder how on earth one could make pancakes just from a shelf stable box... later, thought they must have dehydrated eggs and milk (& oil/butter ??) in it. When I was about 20 I finally had to use one, babysitting once and found out you had to add those things from your fridge. We'd been off white flour for many years by then too, and it seemed SO much like a bowl of white glue/paste to me.... .

Ben, just karate chop the steering part, it'll come apart....LOL!! Teasing!!! They're several good things about owning an older vehicle, you can take it apart, and work on it, and find parts. Unlike these new ones coming out with the engine all sealed up. Break the seal, and you end up voiding your warranty.....no thank you! I'll keep my old paid for 2011 Chevy Silverardo 2500. A kitchen, with dishes every where, and pots on the stove is a loved, and worked kitchen. You know good home made food comes out of that kitchen!!

You are both such a hoot! Meg you are such an inspiration with your efforts to waste nothing and your gentle spirit in caring for your family is such a joy to watch. Ben, when I watch you navigate the property and get creative with how you’ll accomplish a project, and the vast assortment of projects that you tackle makes me think of my dad. He is a jack of all trades and almost always a do it yourself kind of guy. If he doesn’t know how, he researches until he figures it out. My sister and I often were a part of whatever kind of work he was tackling. He taught us to drive a dump truck and pull a horse trailer, how to maintain cars etc. Seeing you working in all your videos with your children right in the thick of it makes my heart happy and seeing you working on the truck with your son in this video brought up some treasured memories for this Grammy. Thank you for the effort you put into sharing your lives with us!

QUESTION: Do you have a winter seed starting and seedling growing space? Depending upon where you're at in the country, October to January is biannual and perennial seed starting time so the seedling starts can get outside asap. You folks are probably at the point to honestly consider upto volumes of herbs, aromatics like lavender, and flowers like Rubeccia. Of course, seeds dint cost what they used to nor does a packet have as many as they used to. But for example, at one time a packet of 20 plus lavender seeds cost less than one half priced garden center plant; figure at about a 50% success rate and that's quite a savings. Some of the perennials often grown ornamentally do wonders for pest control, pollinator attraction, and have upto a number of other purposes; in the right place and space, they can be pretty hardy too. The time to set in a seed tray is often November.

Many memories of Hubby working on our vehicles, with different ones of our sons helping. One of the lost things, that dads did with thier kids. So nice to have the help and the knowledge

I had a little car repair I had to do on Monday the 26th but nothing like you have to do! I just had to replace my alternator because the voltage regulator had gone bad and it was boiling my car battery. Since winter is approaching I got a new battery too. I've replaced a steering box on my old car but I don't remember a castle nut so I must have been lucky. The steering box was leaking and I kept having my power steering stop working. That's great that you had tires on new rims to change the wheels that were messed up. That makes it a lot easier to get under the truck. Is there a sway bar in the front of the truck? I have no idea but I bent mine once on one of my cars. Beautiful red peppers Meg! Nice yellow too. Sweated means you put them in a paper bag right? Oh, you just put them in a bowl and cover that. You can use ATF instead of power steering fluid. It's cheaper. You don't have to have power steering fluid. I was going through big jugs of ATF for power steering fluid until I found a new steering box for my 1979 Chevy Malibu. The first one I found had a leak also! So I had to put the steering box on that car twice. At least the metal hoses for the power steering fluid from the pump were idiot proof so they only fit one way. It's harder to find parts for old cars. I hope you can find all the parts you need to get Sasquatch back together. Thanks for this Hollars! Was that Jack or Tyler helping you with the truck? I've been working on cars since I was 15 yo. I like to do as much as I can myself.

My Bro was working on an engine and I, his second sister of three, asked if I could help. He had the engine sitting on the driveway and said I could use the socket wrench with an extension and a spark plug socket to pull the spark plugs. I looked at them, inserted the wrench, and because it was fighting back stepped on the wrench with my body weight and the first one let out a phenomenal crack and he whipped around to look not believing I would get it loose.😊 Silly mun.
