I love how you add the fun facts about all of the fish and even other things. You just sharing what you know has helped me identify groupers from trout or any other kind of fish 🤣 it's clearly your passion❤️ keep it up man. Sending love from America

"I used to like eating wild plants but I almost died when I ate something I didn't know about" - and THAT, my man, is why I subscribe to this channel 😀

@@thomasputko1080 two kinds of people - the ones that check themselves on a regular basis, and the ones who'd rather not know at all. My friend does a lot of swimming and rowing; intentionally avoids getting checked for parasites because he knows he probably has some and doesn't want to know. Masaru-san's liver is made of steel and probably not 100% okay, but then it'd just make a man feel bad about having a drink or two :DD

I was worried the shocking accident was illness from the plant you mentioned trying in the past, but nope, the termites had to get their two cents in! Thank you for another great video, your confidence encourages me not to give up and focus more on solving a problem instead of being upset it happened. Your using hog fennel from your garden reminds me of another KZbinr named Atomic Shrimp, he lives in England and makes videos about foraging and stresses being careful/mindful eating wild plants. There's a similar plant in England but it looks very much like a poisonous one if you don't know the exact signs to look for.

12:40 For those who don’t know, in Japan, single family homes are torn down after 30 years on average, so they’re built very flimsy. So a 50 year old house - especially in a humid, warm area like his, is going to be in very bad shape. (When you read about a wooden Japanese temple being 1000 years old or something, what’s not obvious is that it’s rebuilt from scratch every hundred years or so.)
@RadenWA Жыл бұрын
The temple thing is only true for a single shrine in Ise Jingu that is rebuilt every 20 years for ceremonial, not structural reason. Pretty much every other temples have indeed been standing durably for hundreds of years except the ones that was destroyed by war, fire or earthquake. Do not confuse temples with everyday homes.

I live in a house that was built in 1943, still standing for about 80 years, and the only issues we have for it is the half bath toilet, foundation and the termites (which we now have underground termite repellant sticks installed underground near the house), not gonna lie.
i wish i could come visit japan and enjoy some delicious food with you brother! keep making videos!

For me, when he explained the herbs, and said don't eat if you don't know the differences. I thought he was really gonna confused the two lol, it's like the perfect joke with that setup.

You’re much braver than I am Masaru-san. I don’t think I could get passed that sliminess to manage to eat any. Although I bet, properly cured, that beautiful red roe would be tasty. As I was watching you cleaning those fish it reminded me of cleaning black bullheads here in Oregon. They are a species of freshwater catfish that don’t get very big but they are tasty. They are slimy and their heads are incredibly hard. You could hit them with a hammer and not do much damage. They are not easy to kill and you have to be careful of a venomous dorsal spine and a large fixed spine behind the gills on each side.
😂😂 i always laugh when i watch your videos, i always learn new things, and i love your positive outlook on everything!
