@@alexzman85 complete bs. it's an old stereotype about Fiat. Fiat's Sergio Marchionee saved Jeep and Chrysler yet let Fiat brand go under the bus. He's dead already. But it's a modern vehicle. With European stuff. So it's going to be bit tricky to learn. But too many pros than cons.

I had to get a new windshield in my JL because it had 6 suction cup marks on the inside that would not clean off. I tried to clean it about 15 times then I tried a Mr Clean magic eraser and the dealer tried a razor blade. Jeep said just replace it to the dealer. I saw where these marks were made. I told the guy at the dealer that they probably picked it up with suction cups at some point in the process. Kinda cool that I saw exactly where it went wrong. Cool video!

It's too bad there isn't a public section to visit. Obviously you can't have the public wandering around the property for a million reasons... but if they had something like Chocolate World at Hershey in Toledo for Jeep, that would be a amazing thing. Even add some kind of Jeep experience thing where you could drive over some obstacles.

The 2-door Wranglers have gotten so big over the years that they aren't the small compact vehicle that they used to be. Grumpy OldMan I would just go to the dealer and get a new windshield. The chemicals could discolor it. U paid $40k plus it should have a clear windshield
@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire
@CurmudgeonExtraordinaire 6 жыл бұрын
+chicagowsox212 The windshield is GLASS. Acetone or xylene will not affect glass. Certain types of acids *can* affect glass, but not simple solvents like acetone or xylene. If the windshield was made from plastic, these chemicals could affect it. That's why you would not use something like that on a *motorcycle's* windshield, but cars have GLASS windshields, not plastic. Put a bit of solvent on a paper towel and wipe a small portion of the affected area to see if it will dissolve whatever residue the suction cups left on it. Do not allow the solvent to get on the plastic dash since some plastics will discolor with certain solvents. For example, carb cleaner will cause motorcycle plastic windshields to turn white. I was spraying a carb once and some splashed on my windshield (even though I was trying to be careful) and found that out. :( So, you don't pour so much of the solvent on the paper towels that it is dripping from it. If the form of acetone that you use is fingernail polish remover, then you will have some more residue that you will need to remove since the manufacturers put fragrances and other oils in it. Avoid that if at possible. Regardless, after you use some form of solvent to get rid of the majority of the suction cup residue, use normal glass cleaner to remove any remaining solvent residue. It's like when you get an oil based paint or grease on your hands. You start out with a mineral spirits based cleaner to remove the majority of it and then use Lava soap to remove whatever residue that the mineral spirits left on your hands.
@chicagowsox212
@chicagowsox212 6 жыл бұрын
Grumpy OldMan that’s a lot to read especially without having paragraphs but I’ll say this. If you use a volatile chemical on the windshield and it does damage it (which in my opinion it easily could) Jeep could them say Sorry, your owners manual specifically says use water or glass cleaners only on glass. Your idea is a good way to get stuck paying for the $900 windshield yourself

some things never change at Toledo lol. the production volume is #1 priority at that plant, it's been that way since 2012 when the plant started to exceed its designed capacity. the toledo overhaul helped, but the facility still does not have adequate capacity for the volume that management tries to push through it. before the overhaul it was so bad, they were running 3 shifts and sending vehicles out with known fit and finish defects and expect dealers to correct via warranty. it was getting ridiculous. people were getting Sport door panels on Rubicon HR builds, they weren't getting the accessories and packages ordered.

I like the two door Jeep better. It just looks good. And in reference to robots doing the work all I see is a lot of maintenance in keeping up those robots. Expensive I would imagine. Moving parts equals a lot of breaks and shut downs.

Sad that the sale split is so skewed to 4 doors. I guess that's why I can't get my two door Jeep Gladiator next year. :(

Why is it sad? Beglad jeep has good sales!!! Otherwise there would be no jeep truck! Get some perspective!

I blame changes in emission to size standards these days to the reduction in all 2dr trucks and suvs ... Plus the disappearance of large v8s from those types of vehicles as Well ... "They just don't build them like they use to"

So.... Now I know where those circles on my JL’s windshield that won’t come off are from. It’s those suction cups on the factory line. Can’t seem to get them off at all. Especially when the windshield gets foggy. Anyone else who own a JL have this issue or know how to get them off?

I do wish Jeep had paid a little more attention when making my Rubicon JK so that the heating would be working, especially now it's freezing outside!

It might be a defective heater or wiring. Jeep Wranglers do have heaters which work.

Jeep should offer tours in the Wrangler assembly plant. Do they realize how many people would be happy to see American workers building these trucks!?!? I cannot understand why they don’t offer this.

2:34 - TWELVE different Wrangler frame variations? HIGHLY doubtful. That means a different frame for each model of each 2 and 4 door version. There's absolutely no way Mike Manley would allow such monetary waste when the Wrangler is notoriously built on the same frame, no matter what year or model. My 88, 91 and 93 YJ frames are EXACTLY the same as all my TJs. The only difference is the 2004-2006 LJ and its +10".
