The water used for boiling Indonesian instant noodles, namely Indomie, doesn't need to be thrown away because the water used for cooking contains lots of vitamins from the noodles. What's dangerous about instant noodles is the seasoning, which contains a lot of MSG and other chemicals

I do that too (in Philippines). cooking the noodles separately in hot water and then throwing that water away gets rid of the extra msg and sodium in the fried dried noodles. if you want to make it with soup instead, put the spice packet in a separate bowl with hot water while you cook the noodle in separate hot water, drain and completely remove the noodles from that water after 3 minutes, then put it into the already mixed soup bowl, just like real noodle soup. top with soft cooked egg or even crispy fried egg, and mix, add crispy fried onion or fried garlic. if you want it dry like a simple mi goreng, just add the spice packet and mix after throwing away the noodle water 👍

Each stall/stand/restaurant have their own special sauce which they add (2:38) which make their dishes unique and distinguishable. This is what makes a stand/restaurant popular.
@yukarikoyushito5525 Жыл бұрын
@@MiChzP thanks for the information, in my country we just cook the noodle following the instruction in the package without adding any other sauce, so It's quite interesting to know that it is cooked in that way in motherland

17 packs of indomie(1 pack per serving) turned out to be 24 servings in the end unless my eyes deceived me while counting. People getting less per plate perhaps? Not to hate but when I cook indomie that way, 1 serving does not look like that.
@shevatangkas168 Жыл бұрын
Yes but it's cheaper and tastier (they also give a secret sauce) so many people especially students like it
@atheneus Жыл бұрын
They also added lots of eggs. Maybe it added to the bulk

Omg ive always eaten these as dry noodles where you drain the water bc the pack says to. I want to try this soup version
@ShinwaneKido Жыл бұрын
As long as the packaging doesn't say "Mi Goreng", it is recommended to cook it with the broth water. You're probably eating the Mi Goreng variant with white packaging
@genkers Жыл бұрын
Isnt that wat they are making. It looks like mi goreng to me
@masayash Жыл бұрын
It is mie goreng, but its not quite a soup, if you notice, they cooked it until the "soup" is barely there. The term we used is "nyemek" for this kind of cooking. It's in-between dry and soupy. I guess the closest term is stir-fry, like a lot of chinese cooking.
@edzz177 Жыл бұрын
The extra red sauce that the cook add to the wok is what make the soup base, you cant replicate this only with seasoning from mi goreng.
@papagooseonline Жыл бұрын
@@edzz177 Do you know ingredients that go into the sauce, at least approximately? I have only eaten indomie noodles with package spices so I would like to try a new way. Also if you know what that last brown topping is, fried chives?

Haha you mean like people can just make it at home? I make these noodles almost every day, right out of the packet (with 2 sunny-side up eggs) and it is already delicious. Wonder how much they upcharge for the extra ingredients/labor and how much more delicious it is? 🤔
