🌶️Get Smoked Ghost Pepper: www.kivahealth...
CEBU, PHILIPPINES - Welcome to Cebu, Philippines, and today we’re hanging out with my friend Kalami Cebu and going to eat at one of the most legendary street foods stalls - he’s known to be the fastest street food Chef in Cebu and he specializes in instant noodles and canned meat omelets.
When you arrive you’ll see a bunch of boxes of instant noodles that you can choose from and a few boxes of canned meats you can choose from. You choose whatever combination you want and then put your order in line. The day I went, we had to wait for about 30 minutes to make it to our order - it’s extremely popular.
He cooks omelets with canned meat and your instant noodles. It’s definitely simple, but tasty, comforting and extremely popular.

Yeah he may be fast and accurate, but what I love the most is his ability to remember every combination of each customer's orders despite he's cooking a lot of them simultaneously, and that's him being the only chef on a never-ending, very tiring line of orders. I think he worked on a professional kitchen before with all that skill he has. If he hasn't, then that's even more impressive.

Can that guy do it for 10 hours a day while keeping track of multiple simultaneous orders? I agree that none of this cooking is impressive, I could easily cook this up instead of buying from him. But the main point is his coordination is superb, especially because he's doing multiple tasks at a time back to back. Even just opening a can requires focus, imagine doing that while also keeping track of the orders. Also, Filipino cuisine is usually well regarded. This isn't a case of low expectations in a poorer country.

This is cool. I would have also picked the extra spicy noodles but I would have paired that with a can of Century Tuna Hot and Spicy. The canned meatloaf isn't spicy at all and has lots of extenders.

Mark! I was so admiring these skills and in the background I had the mission impossible music playing. It matched so well with the skills and was a little funny. But it is definitely the theme music for this amazing cook!

Doing the same work at his speed, probably a couple of people can do it, but doing all those works at that speed consistently for hours? That's what make it really impressive!

Kuya Osting might not know us but he's one of our food heroes (haha) during our stay in Cebu last 2019. He has provided us the comfort foods (yes, those are just instant foods... but to us, those are the comfort foods away from home because we can't cook at our dorms) we craved through our review days. You can tell them how you want them cooked, and he delivers! And he remembers! Salamat, Kuya Osting!
